    An old sales trick: Always get the name of the guy that referred you to someone else. When you go in to talk to that person, say "John told me to come see you to discuss your vending machines". Probably wouldn't have helped in that scenario, but you'd be surprised how many doors that will get you in.

    The motel might have the basics down: fill it with food, pull out cash. But the first time they have trouble with their vending machine, they are going to be in pain. You could have sold them a vending machine service contract if you've become an expert in all the models. You could even offer to mod their vending machines to accept credit cards and they stay owners of the machine. (At a nice markup of course.)

    The fact you're relatively new to vending and you have card readers and remote DEX is awesome. I've seen a lot of large scale companies go without those, or not utilize the remote DEX feature. Video is full of deceit. He is trying to get you to buy his marketing ideas but does not give out much info into the inner works of vending itself. He shows his best account and best equipment but only mentions in video that he bought some equipment from a guy for 300. The equipment in that video is more 6-10k. He never showed you the 300 dollar equipment. Also he only showed what he made on one account, but fails to talk about net profit.

    Invest in something that will benefit both your business and your customers. Many spend hundreds of dollars for the satisfaction of a fully personalized massage, but you can give your customers the convenient relief they seek for a small fraction of cost. The Gagake ISPA Vending Massage Chair is an effective way for Hotels, Airports, Parks, Shopping malls to make money, attract customers and keep them in your store or business longer.

    You have to also take into account you have to pay the credit card fees monthly. You have to be able to fix the machine if it breaks and get parts. You might get a lead that has a drink already and coke or Pepsi might service that drink machine. We have locations where coke services the drink machine and the snack machine still does really well. It’s about the number of people that frequent the business. You also won’t have access to Home Depot, Lowe’s and other big box stores as they have national contracts with vending companies. You also need to think about commissions if they want one, renting a move truck with lift gate or buy one. Vending is not get rich quick as a lot of that money goes out in bills and you need to buy other machines and learn how to keep them clean and working. Also helps to have a backup machines in case one machine can’t be fixed or they don’t make the parts for that model anymore. You also need insurance because if your machine sparks and starts a fire, your responsible. Other than that good luck. Talk to some actual experienced vendors and you’ll see. I’ve been in vending for 14 years.

  • @cbrrett1731

    @cbrrett1731

    2 жыл бұрын

    Lmao calm down you seem upset I’ve been in business for 20+ years those National contracts aren’t that hard it’s about service, reputation and relationships. Most national contracts get assigned to local venders like if your able to provide the service that they need and are reliable. I have machines inside 80% of the Sams Club locations in my city both break room and food court/exit areas, 75% of all LA fitness gyms in my city along with Lowe’s and Home Depot and other big box retailers. This business is all about customer service, reliability and networking. Most importantly it’s a numbers/volumes game. Enough volume where I buy truck loads from sams/dr pepper/Pepsi for special pricing. So much product Dr. Pepper gives me machines free of charge and access to parts for maintenance at $0 cost. Like I said it’s volume and relationships, yes it’s hard work but the profits are worth it if you do it correctly.

    Been watching your videos since the beginning and like the idea of your course for new people. My suggestion (and what would make me order the course even having been doing this now for just over a year) would be to have a chapter or two dealing with machine issues and how to fix them. (Replacing card readers, cash boxes, cooling decks, coils and motors, number pads and stuff like that). It might even be a large enough project to make an additional course, one that I would absolutely buy!

What are the bin names and prices with the yellow tops that you use. whats the trolley/holder name and price for all your items when going in the locations to restock. and finally what are the vending machines and prices. Thanks! btw this comes from an 11 year old who was influenced by you and started his own business selling on the street.

    I think it could be useful to set up online surveys for different machine locations for the customers to tell you what they want in the vending machines.

  • @fitybux4664

    @fitybux4664

    The survey is if they buy the item in the machine. :-D The strongest signal is someone willing to plop down cash. For any of those sodas/snacks where 100% was gone between refills, they might consider having two bins with the same flavor.

  • @notmuch_23

    @notmuch_23

    @@fitybux4664 That requires taking a chance by buying and stocking the product, printing new button cards in certain machines, and if it doesn't sell, you're stuck with it. There's also the opportunity cost of not putting in another product that will sell better. If the location's customers can tell you what they want in the machine, that can alleviate much of that chance, but of course, what customers _say_ they want may not ve what they _really_ want, but I think that customers may like having direct input on what goes in those machines.

    I run the vending machines in my apartment building. I just asked the building manager & he gave me the okay. So I put one in the laundry room & one in the lobby. I also use a combo machines & just stand alone machines for bottled water. Believe it or not water is my best seller. The best part is that since I live in NYC, my machine is actually cheaper than the stores in the area.

    Hey! A quick question for you! For every location, do you need to pay the owner a portion of your profits made since the machines are at their location? Also, do you need to pay a portion of their electricity? I just found you and your videos are awesome! My fiancée and I are looking into starting a vending machine business!

  • @YourAverageClown

    @YourAverageClown

    It all depends on the location that you're working with. For the most part, I've never seen a business make you pay a portion of their electric bill, but commission is pretty common.

    For everything that would keep you awake at night: "Do I have to pay for electricity? What if some idiot tips the machine over and kills themselves? What if the business owner runs off with the machine or has it removed without your OK?" Always always always have stuff like that in the contract you make them sign.

    You discuss & negotiate with the owners of said locations. Some won't care that you take 100% profit. Some will ask for like 10 cents per bag of chips sold. All about your confidence. & it's okay if places say no. You tried & there are other convenient locations to place vending machines. I'm gonna save up & try this asap. It's simple.

    I have a very large Vending company. There’s never electricity compensation lol Percentage of commissions is common but not very often honestly. Also I have some companies who would prefer us helping sponsoring an event for them, whether it’s monetary or providing products or prizes for company Holiday/Christmas party’s I.e prizes (Tv’s, Gift Cards, Ipads, cash prize). Some just request water for staff even have some request fresh fruit weekly. It all depends and varies but there’s obviously a limit to ensure your profitable.

    Depending on the business you put it at and the location most likely the owner will get a percentage that’s negotiated you being the vender in that being your business you should get the most of the percentage and the owner of the building or store establishment your placing your vending machine at should get around 10 to 15% if your a great business man and negotiator anything above 15% your loosing money to much of it especially a vending business unless you got 20 machines in 20 locations you not making much off one or two and the location is very important want to make sure it’s in a busy foot traffic shopping center or a strip mall barbershop hair salon nail salon etc this can be a great business if you do it right and strategic

    Something good, and smart, to do is what grocery store employees do. It's called blocking. It's when product is pulled to the front/edge of the shelf and if there's two+ lines of space for the product then at least one piece should be in each line. When stockers restock, they do basically do the same thing. The new product goes behind what's still on the shelf. I would never remove older product and only put in new unless any given piece of older product is expired. However, I'd also do my best to get back to any given location on or before the day product expires. It's not competing when an already placed machine sells one type of product at a given location and the location would like a machine that sells another type of product. I'd do it. It's the difference between more profit or no profit.
