sogang was great when i studied there for a year

To the university I wanna go to they give special scholarships for exchange students, so I really hope I get accepted there, my Collage boards are this year, fingers crossed PD: I’m currently studying Korean at home, and once a month I have a reunion with a mentor, they talk to me about the culture differences and how to cook basic Korean food

Hi! Thank you so much! 💜 I’m not quite sure if you mean my KLEC (korean language) certificate or my degree? My university undergraduate is going to be 4 years. And the KLEC program you can choose by yourself for how long you want to do it. They have up to level 6 and each level is 3 months. And job offers, hmmmm I’m not sure either how this works, I’m just hoping for my best after i graduate from my university. But I believe it shouldn’t be a problem as long as you have the qualifications for the job, maybe need to be able to speak some korean, depending on the job, and i believe it might be a plus if you have graduated from a korean university as well. Sogang University also has one of the highest ”after graduating getting a job” statistic in south Korea.

i'm trying to apply for this coming semester! hoping everything goes smoothly! i will just attend for one semester only hopefully I can make friends (I'm a super shy introvert TT)

When you applied for Sogang did you have to send in physical copies of your Diploma and bank statement? Wanting to apply for KLEC but that part confuses me-as I’d like to apply for the D-4 visa as well. I have the documents ready but when should i mail them? If at all?

Hi! Are you applying for sogang university undergraduate program as well or just the KLEC? If you are applying for undergraduate, which means you would need D-2 visa, you have to send physical copies. The KLEC (which means you would get a D-4 visa) I’m not hundred percent sure about since i did not apply through them directly but through my undergraduate application. I would recommend you to just send them a quick email asking if they need the physical copies. 🤗

What advice can you give to someone who hasnt been in a school or class for such a long time? I've been thinking a lot lately and i really wanted to do it and study korean language but also the more i get older the more anxious i became, i can say im a little bit of an introvert as well. Hi! Thank you for your comment! I don’t think you need to worry too much, i also had a few years of break of school, but once i came back it was as if i never left really haha. And it seems like you really want to study Korean, so I say go for it! Also, when i studied korean, both at sogang but also at another academy, the people that I studied with were of all different ages! so don’t worry! Fighting! 🤗

Do you take the Korean course and your major classes together or do you have to do a separate semester for the Korean classes first ?

I took my major classes and my Korean classes together at the same time during my freshman year, so in both fall and spring semester I took both during the same semester. But I also took Korean classes during the winter break (this video), and thereby I didn’t have my major classes in this video :)

During busking people not blur ok but blur is much better here don't care filming during back ground but just not allow to not ask it ans zoom in people

Also, how hard is it to make friends with koreans? The thought of studying their language means you will more likely encounter different foreigners or easier to make friends with foreigners since you will encounter them 5days a week. I think it's a huge plus to have or know a korean person or have a friend that could help you in general while you are there.? Thanks again...

it can be a little hard to make Korean friends. Like you say, if you study a korean language course you will only encounter other foreigners. But in my case, I am not only studying Korean, but have other university classes where i encounter Koreans. But I would still say if you don’t speak Korean very well it can be hard since not a lot of Koreans speak English. Hope this was of any help?

Hi! I believe that’s correct yes, I had a friend who told me it is not available unless you’re enrolled at Sogang as uni student, But I haven’t actually seen this information so I can’t say for sure 😢

My classes are half in english and half in korean! But the first semester I choose only english classes, and for this semester i was a little bit more confident in my korean skills and thereby choose a couple classes conducted in Korean! 🥰🥰 and thank you! I really appreciate it!!! ❤️

Thank you!!! I have to take two semesters of korean classes (They’re included in my tuition) and the classes are every day Monday to friday in the afternoons. And I get credits for them as well! i started in level 2, so i get level 2 and level 3 for “free”, and they recommend you to reach level 4 topik which equals kind of level 3-4 at sogang. Its recommended if you are going to take classes later that will be conducted in korean💕💕

I wanted to ask that I am planning to go to South Korea for studying Korean Language. I am going for June 2023. The admission for it will start in March/ April 2023. And admission letter will come in May. So will my visa come in 1 month?

Hi! How fun! Yes, from my experience the visa process was quite fast, I got it in about a week after I applied for the visa! It might depend on where you live though (I am from Sweden) 💜

Hi! how fun!! I actually ended up not choosing art and technology for my major. As you might know, you cant choose your major until after you have finished your freshman year, and after my freshman year i realized that art and technology wouldn’t suit me that well and I got more and more interested in another major; media and entertainment. So unfortunately i cannot really answer anything that has to do with the major art and technology. I do know though that most lessons at the art and technology major are in english. As for your korean skills, i dont think you need to worry too much, there’s a lot of other foreigners in the same situation as you (I was too) in our department. So everybody is kind of going through it, of course I do wish that my korean skills were better because it would be easier that way, but it is manageable. Also there are korean classes for foreigners that you could take if you feel like you want to improve a little, there’s also korean language program that you can take, and if I’m correct if you have topik level 3 then you are still required to take those korean classes. ♥️

I know Sogang has a 20,000 bank statement that you have to submit😭 how we’re you able to get that kind of money? I have everything I need for the application it’s just that bank statement that concerns me

I know the struggle! I was lucky though, because In Sweden when you are a student you can get study loans and a little study allowance, so when I was studying before (I was a uni student in Sweden) I got the loans, and I was also working for about a year to save up. But I know from friends around me, that they were able to borrow the money “temporarily” from their parents, and then after just sent it back. I’m not sure if this helped though💗🥺

what was your gpa when you got accepted my gpa is 3.4 and i am curious about would i get accepted by sogang

I was working for about a year and a half before leaving. And also if you’re a Swedish citizen you can get study grants and loans if you study overseas, which I’ve been getting/taking 🤗

There are both English and Korean courses at sogang university, however depending on what department you apply for there might be more or less options to take courses conducted in English. I am in my second year and so far 90% of my classes has been conducted in English!💜

Thank you for asking some questions! 1, my tuition fee is around 4.000.000 won 😅. 2, i guess I can only speak for my self and from my experience on this question; and I have been lucky to not have experienced anything like that. Maybe a few people staring at me here and there, but nothing that I am dying over so to say haha
