Tyler, please turn your phone horizontally. It’s more user friendly on a TV. Also, I know it’s a pain in the arse to find trash, but please take it with you and not chuck it back on the ground. Chances are, if you return, you’ll be detecting it again. A little cliché, what goes around comes around. Not having a go, I do like your videos, keep them coming 👍

Love the detecting but Im a biologist so seeing you rescue that little gecko was a bonus - you guys have such cool reptiles in Oz!
KZread format is 16:9. Turn your camera on its side when filming and it will automatically put your footage into 16:9 for the wider screen 🍻

Hi Mr Mahoney, how y going. I was wondering if you need help working on your claim. My name is Richard Porter and have been detecting since 1990 ish, back in England. I never found a Saxon hoard or any Roman coins. I moved to Australia in 1993 and married a Aussie girl in 1994. We have six grown up children. I love panning for gold and detecting as well. I have a GPX5000 DETECTOR. Hoping for a reply at least from you. Cheers Richard 🙂👍

Love your channel. However , I have a few tips that might help you. I watch numerous UK and US and a few Australian prospectors and detectorists . Only Aussies use foul language (not all of them) and it turns people off , particularly if they are from overseas. It is not necessary and is an indication of a poor education. Secondly , slow down your speech a little and speak clearly. Aussies are also the only people that talk in grams . Gold is an international commodity and is priced in ounces , even in Australia . These comments are not meant as a criticism but hopefully will help you increase your viewers

Hi thanks for the feedback it’s greatly appreciated! unfortunately my dad is who he is and am not going to be able to change the way he speaks. We grew up in rural Australia and it’s the way it goes here and he isn’t going to change his ways at 60 for a KZread channel. Secondly gold being only priced in ounces is incorrect, all exploration/ geology reports and all sampling for the hard rock industry in Australia is measured in grams per tonne. If you tried to say that say nugget was .8 of an ounce instead of saying 25 grams no one would know what you’re talking about here. Prospectors in Australia do not talk like that. Also we have bought and sold gold for 30 years and even the Perth mint gives us our report in grams. We speak in ounces when a nugget is over an ounce. Again as full time prospectors we will not be changing the way we speak for a KZread channel, hopefully it’s not to hard for you to figure out the conversion :)

So from what you are saying I assume you are not interested in increasing your subscribers. Actually I am right,…gold is only priced in ounces . Don’t confuse that with reporting which we do in grams per ton.

@@bbqridge gold is not only priced in ounces at all. All of our gold is sold at $110 a gram, and is always calculated on a gram price. How much gold have you found/sold/ bought? My guess is not a lot. You go down to your local gold buyer, they will have a gram price hung up on their wall, not an ounce price. It’s funny you are trying to explain this to me. I just read dad and mum your comment, who are full time gold prospectors and owned a gold dealership for 10 years and they laughed. And no I don’t care if people don’t want to subscribe because they don’t like the way Australians speak. This is how my family are I am not changing them because people like you are snowflakes when it comes to swear words 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
