Day in the life of a MedSurg Nurse | VLOG

#medicalsurgicalnurse #dayinthelife #12hourshift
Wassup guys, Ang & Nat here again showing you a day in the life of a Medical Surgical Nurse. Our unit still continues to be a 34 bedded COVID unit. We tried out best to show you guys what we go through in a 12 hour shift, but if you ever been on a floor as nurse or nursing student you know that a LOT can happen in a 12 hour shift. We also wanted to make sure we protected patient privacy and didn't use our phone while actually on the floor. Let us know if we missed anything you would like to know about what goes on in a shift! There are so many things that happened this day that we had to leave out due to HIPPA.
Don't forget to like and subscribe to our channel to show your support.
Until next week!!
Ang&Nat

Put a tissue over along the bridge of your mask. It will keep your mask from fogging up. Ty for sharing your day. Hang in there. Love Jenn, nurse from Hawaii

Loved the vlog! Could you guys do a vlog on your days off? Also maybe a story time video of interesting things that happened on your shift or during clinical when you were students? Your favourite and worse nursing interventions?

Loved this video! I have a work wife too! It’s the best! Haha! I am currently working in a GI outpatient setting and am think about going back to the floor. 😥 There are pros and cons to everything, but I am missing my critical thinking skills! Idk maybe I’m just crazy! Lol!

There are absolutely pros and cons to everything. Inpatient and outpatient definitely have many differences but it is always okay to explore all aspects of nursing. Nursing is great in the sense that if you get bored of one specialty you can attempt to learn something else by changing your specialty. Make a change that works for your personal growth as well as your everyday life. Thank you for the support!

Love watching you guys!! Thanks for making this video! Maybe if you could give some advice about task management and how you organize or prioritize things throughout the shift. Also, how many patients do you usually have during a shift?

We will try. It has been slightly difficult to continue videos like this as we are in a new facility and we do not know the facilities social media regulations. We will attempt to do maybe vlogs when we are off of work. Thank you for the support!

It can be difficult because if the patient load, but it also depends what hospital you work in. Usually you have 5-7 patients in medsurg.
