Hello dear! I have done my llb from India and I am also a qualified company secretary *it is same as the chartered governance professional* in Australia... If I do *LLM IN BUSINESS LAW* from *University of Sydney* can I get a job there, provided that I only have the llm and not llb or jd from an Australian University.. Moreover should I study llm solely or should I also think to give *ICSA AUSTRALIA CHARTED GOVERNANCE PAPER ? I WILL BE REALLY HAPPY IF YOU CAN CLARIFY MY DOUBTS! 😄
Hi Ray! How did you learn coding and how did you manage the time to learn it as a practising lawyer? and have time to dance too! xD

Hi Kimberly! I actually have video on how to learn code here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dKiBuquFkpyylMY.html . In terms of time management, I don't really have any unique tips - just work smart, get your stuff done and set boundaries! Good luck :)
do you mind if i ask where you studied and what degrees you did? i have been looking into something similar to yourself as both areas seem interesting.

hi, thanks for watching! You will be able to work in a US law firm under the supervision of a practicing US attorney, but unless you pass the bar exam and get licensed, I don't think you can practise law unsupervised in US!

Hey I am thinking of pursuing law in Australia. How much do you get paid for this work? if you don't mind me asking 😅
@techieray
Жыл бұрын
Hi Ananya, great to hear you're thinking of doing law in Australia! The pay obviously depends on which area of law and which company you work in. The pay is highest at large corporate law firms (where I work at). Starting entry level salary between $90K to $100K (Australian dollar), with pay rises every year

@@techieray hey thanks! do you have an idea if I want to do litigation? what's it like? 😅 is it tough.. if i join a lawyer what would be the salary in the starting? 🥺
@techieray
Жыл бұрын
@@ananyasood960 you're welcome! Again litigation depends on the area of law. You can be a solo litigator who represents individual clients in small claims or be part of a huge firm that represents big corporate clients in multi million dollar lawsuits. Obviously the latter pays more, starting salary in AU is 70-100k (depending on your firm). In terms of work, litigation is very paperwork heavy and cases can drag out for several months. As a junior, you'll mostly help with admin project management, document review and perhaps doing a first draft on witness statements. But the actual court attendance is done by partners or hired barristers

@@techieray oh yes truee! as a junior in law firms, i would handle that kind of admin work mostly😅 actually I was asking about lawyers chambers kind of....practicing under a lawyer so that i can atleast witness more court appearances, and later on maybe appear on my own. small cases, not that big. is that difficult for a foreign lawyer. does it pay enough for basic luxuries? 😅
@techieray
Жыл бұрын
@@ananyasood960 hmm so if we're focusing on pay, then Australia is relatively small market. Lawyer salary is considered high (above median) but given Australia's high cost of living (especially housing), you might still need to budget and control spending! The pay is significantly higher (for the same level and amount of work) in USA and UK, so you might be better off considering those markets :)
Hi is it easy to be Lawyer?
