DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DOCTOR: CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC NIGHT SHIFT

Join me for a day in the life of a doctor working in the hospital on a night shift during the coronavirus pandemic. As the senior medical resident on call overnight, I'm responsible for supervising three junior residents (1st year internal medicine), seeing patients in the emergency department, managing the COVID-19 unit, managing the critical care unit and any medical emergencies (code blues!). There's never a dull moment!
THANK YOU Alex, Mary and Kevin for participating in this video and for their excellent work overnight!

And in 2017-18 over 80,000 people supposedly died of the flu, or pneumonia with Flu like illness.. Also this is actually less deadly than the Flu for young and relatively healthy people.. Most of the people who died from this have been 85 or older..

I'm in no way saying that hospitals and doctors aren't flawed but I'm also not telling random people on the internet not to trust conventional healthcare at all. You're one of those people you described, not me. AND this video is in Canada, they have free healthcare and I'm from the UK, who also has free healthcare, it's mainly your country struggling with this and it's because you lot don't believe in free access to healthcare being a right, if they got a wage from the government rather than payment per treatment (easier to exploit patients), the system would be less flawed but you guys aren't ready for that convo.

Violin MD I heard that the Covid-19 might be a scam. The virus is a real , but they are inflating the numbers. The number infected and the number that died. Hospitals are actually laying-off hospital works. 1,000,000 healthcare workers laid off. Hospitals through out the country have been empty.

@@user-lu6yg3vk9z So, in essence you are saying that Siobhan has been deceiving you? Why watch her videos if you feel she is part of this multi-national worldwide conspiracy to defraud the public for some nefarious purpose (fill in blank here)? Really? I think that the reality is that nations are hiding the extent of their cases rather than the other way around. Sure, not every county and every region of the world is as heavily hit. that's the nature of a pandemic. I tend to believe the medical professionals and the science and the data. Does belief in this "scam" make you want to leave your home without a mask and possibly kill people with your ignorance? If so you might believe the scam because it's easier to believe than reality. Which is sad.

Siobhan, you are an inspiration! It’s interesting going through your videos and watching vlogs from the different years of your residency! Honestly the reason I find it so interesting is because you seem to have such a similar confidence and range of knowledge the entire time, be it your 1st year or your 5th year in! Your progress has been such a joy to see even though you’ve been smart as hell from the start. You are also compassionate and loving with great bedside manner, so props to you; some professionals (in my personal experience specifically in big city hospitals in CO) can be kinda cold and judgmental, especially to addicts and alcoholics in particular honestly, but NOT you, NOR your colleagues that you feature in! Love that they are also down to chat patient care in your videos, too! How nice! I found your little speech SO sweet as well, omg.. towards the end of the video, re: “coming in when you’re sick bc we just truly want to help those that need it etc.” -that is just so amazing and encouraging and some really need that boost of encouragement and I’m sure that alone helped many people feel more comfortable in going in to see you guys! XO keep it up girl! Also you and your husband are just ADORABLE! Much from form Denver, CO. XOXO.
