DAY IN THE LIFE OF A 4TH YEAR - Dental School Vlog #13
Hi everyone! Long time no see!! 4th year has been sooo busy between clinic and external rotations so apologies for not putting out more content. I'm planning on putting out a few more vlogs so you guys can see what my external rotations are like! Stay tuned...
In this video you'll get to see a pretty typical day in the main clinic for a fourth year dental student at ASDOH. We usually see a patient in the morning and another in the afternoon. On this particular day, I saw a patient in the morning to initiate root canal therapy on #6. In the afternoon, I saw a patient for a filling on tooth #14, where I placed an MOD composite. After that I spent time after hours in the wet lab fabricating custom trays for a patient that was returning for a final impression for complete dentures.

Great question! It was definitely hard at first because he spends a lot of time at home while I'm at school and he used to bark when I was gone. But we got our routine down and now everything is working great. Love love having my pup around ❤

Hi from a dental student to another :) .It's shocking to me that you don't have the amount of subscribers you should, I love your channel. Can I ask some questions about the books you have been taught and read by yourself during your dental school? I'm in my second year, unfortunately we don't a good professor who can teach us the material therefore we need to learn everything ourselves... But I'm having a hard time finding a book which is perfect for students and basically beginners about Fundamentals of Fixed Prosthodontics. I have Herbert T. Shillingburg, Jr, DDS book but I think it's a bit too complicated for someone who wants to learn the basic material and then more. I'd appreciate any recommendation and tips ... If you have read this far, thank you for your time :)

Any advice for someone who applied and interviewed at ASDOH but got waitlisted? It’s my top choice and just having to wait is killing me. Is there anything within my power I can do?

I would definitely follow up with the admissions team and let them know that ASDOH is your top choice!
I recently went for a cleaning they took x-rays and after the hygienist got done cleaning my teeth the dentist came in and looked around and he said I have a cavity starting down in the nerve on a tooth that had a root canal on and it already has a crown on it said that it's going to have to come out are there any options to saving the tooth rather than having an extraction I only have root canal done 3 years ago does that necessarily mean I'm going to lose my tooth

It's hard to say without seeing the tooth clinically as well as the x-rays. Its never a bad idea to go to another dentist and get a second opinion so you can feel good about whatever treatment you choose.

That is a nose cone drill with an acrylic bur. It’s basically a dremel specifically for dentistry.
