Day in the life at Johns Hopkins (dining hall, gym, library, classes) | freshmen year

You can print double-sided stuff without using the printing station computer oops. Disclaimer: I am a freshman so some stuff might be wrong since I just got here. Some extra info about dorms: you can control the temperature of AC and heating in McCoy and Wolman but not in any of the AMRs. There's no oven in any of the dorms. Only suites have kitchenettes. There are common kitchens in all of the dorms (I think) which have microwaves and ovens. Most of this stuff is on JHU's website. Hope this helped!

    Oh my goodnesssss!!!! So I worked as a residence counselor for a pre-college program at Jhu this past summer and our program was housed in McCoy floors 1-4! I’m from Atlanta and this is LITERALLY the video I needed before flying out there😂 I’m talking you have allll the details! I def would’ve loved having this, but it’s great that now future jhu pre-college and undergrads can find this vid and get the info on McCoy and just how FREAKING HUGE campus is.

    This is the most informative video I've seen yet as an incoming first year student. I have a question about housing. How do you recommend I rank the housing options and room preferences on the housing application? Thanks! Great video!

  • @JuliaFang

    @JuliaFang

    11 ай бұрын

    Thanks! It really depends on what you want for housing. If you want traditional dorm style housing I would say a double in AMR 1 or 2 (AMR 2 is the "social dorm" so it gets loud at night), and if you want suite style housing then Wolman or McCoy or AMR 3 but I will say my McCoy double is the biggest one out of everyone's dorms I've seen. I ranked McCoy double first, then Wolman double, then AMR 3 double, AMR 1 double (I don't remember exactly but you get the gist). Singles in a suite are also pretty nice since you're not completely isolated but you get your own space but it's less common than doubles.

  • @JuliaFang

    @JuliaFang

    Yeah breakfast is from 7-10 ish, lunch is from 11-2, and dinner is from 5-8, late-night food is from 9-12am (times vary if it's a weekend and depending on the dining hall) and in between those times there are still food options but more limited. Nolan's serves all-day breakfast though.

    I think some classes are hard to get into but overall things work out eventually. The intro classes that everyone has to take (ex. intro chem) always have a ton of people (like over 100 maybe?) but I feel like that's kinda the nature of every stem major at most schools
