I’m watching to try and get ideas for my 9yr old son who began to train in MAG properly a year ago. He’s vegetarian though and not a huge eater, but has been getting intermittently hungry more recently (growing strong 💪🏼 ). I’m hoping he can get all the nutrients and protein he needs in many small meals a day. Any motivational advice for a boy who has to take it to the next level in order to demonstrate he’s ready to uptrain with the boys who are beyond his current skills level? He loves watching your videos.

Fun video Brinn! Looking good! Question for your next podcast: is your backpiece for religious reasons or because you were inspired whilst in Rio, or a bit of both?

  • @tylerkochman1007

I would presume it was definitely inspired by Rio (he got it AFTER competing in those games), but also would think it has religious significance to him. Unless Christ the Redeemer had conjured up feelings of awe related to religious faith, I could not imagine getting such a large and time-consuming series of tattoos. If this was soley to commemorate the games, he could have just gotten a smaller and easier tattoo of the Rio 2016 logo. Clearly, he must have found Christ the Redeemer to have been an inspiring sight, and I would imagine his faith contributed to it. Perhaps also, when training for years with hopes of making the Rio squad, he had used visual motivation, and thought of Christ the Redeemer when he thought of Rio.

More 'Tasty' please. Someday you may have a career as a paid consultant for young athletes underwritten by the government health care authority and food companies. Try and include at least one suggestion about 'Safety' along with 'Tasty' as Safety and Tasty really do go together for very young athletes.

he eats so bad,it is truly horrible,my parents are both nutritionists and they say that only 5 percent of our daily calorie intake should be made up of proteins. He also eats no fruits or vegetables,he must be deficient in all kinds of nutrients and his liver must be struggling a lot from all the protein.

Like I said in the video, this is what works for me. What works for me might not for you, you have to adapt and find your own thing and this was only an insight into 1 day. You and your parent might be very healthy people. But if you was athletes you won’t be getting in the correct recovery or able to build muscle efficiently.

Yňœþ Ķœß I mean, you also have to consider that nutrition needed by him could very well differ from nutrition needed by typical individuals. Brinn is in the gym working on skills, routines, and his general fitness most days of the week. Think of it this way. Remember how Michael Phelps had a notoriously large caloric intake?? Phelps' diet was one that would probably drive most individuals' bodies into severe obesity. That is because, as a professional swimmer, Phelps was training in the pool for hours upon hours, day in and day out. For him, his metabolism was such that he needed to maintain that sort of high calorie diet. His body's needs differed from most other people's bodies. Your parents' suggestions might be tailored to individuals that excercise merely to maintain their health. But perhaps not to Brinn, someone whose body endures the level of physical exertion required by Olympic caliber gymnastics training.

Tyler Kochman You are right, but he still needs vitamins and minerals, and he sure as hell wont get all of them If he always eats mainly processed animal proteins, and a deficiency can only worsen his performance.
