Day at Night: Isaac Stern, classical violinist
Ойын-сауық
CUNY TV is proud to re-broadcast newly digitized episodes of DAY AT NIGHT, the popular public television series hosted by the late James Day. Day was a true pioneer of public television: co-founder of KQED in San Francisco, president of WNET upon the merger of National Educational Television (NET) and television station WNDT/Channel 13, and most recently, Chairman of the CUNY TV Advisory Board. The series features fascinating interviews with notable cultural and political figures conducted in the mid 1970's. (Taped:11/13/73)

One of the better Day at Night interviews by far. Not to take anything away from Richard Rogers and Aaron Copeland, but I wish they would have told us more. Aside from that, Day really likes to talk himself and a couple of times in other interviews I want to tell him to stop interjecting and let the artist do the damn thing. I see that Day knows to cool it in this interview. What's more, Issac Stern likes to elaborate and doesn't need too many queries from the interviewer.
This is one of the most wonderful interviews I have ever heard! I loved every moment of it! Thank you so very much for sharing this!

@Aries Neil Definitely, been watching on instaflixxer for months myself =)
What an outstanding interview. But I'm astonishing that a man with fingers that look like sausages could play the violin so unbelievably. Issac Stern is an icon, and always will be.
I always loved Mr. Stern.
