Last year a woman was judged because of this, she came outside the balconie and started to cut the rope of one guy, he noticed and he went inside of another balconie further down, i work on this and the sole thought of somebody doing this shit is horrible.

Milwaukee Impact Demolition Gloves. This ones. It have have impact protection, what is useless for me, but I love durability. Any other falls apart in 1-2 weeks of work, this one staying for few months easily. Price is high (35 Ca$), but still less then Petzl etc. Its not waterproof, sometimes I'm using blue disposable gloves underneath, there is enough space. Thanks for questioning, appreciate your support!

How you get a contract like this I don't know, but DAMN that looks like a Hell of a time!

It's not as fun as it looks ;) But getting job like this could be pretty easy. No tickets needed (for entry lvl), experience or any skills. A lot of companies hiring rn, before next season, take a look. But if you wonna this job as sub contractor / company owner - holy crap, best of luck

Moerman Excelerator, Petzl ASAP and Astro Harness. What kind of descender do you use? I use the IDs. And I hate those drops from top ledge overhangs lol. Almost have to go upside down 😅

Its Skylotec Spark (same as Skylotec Sirius, but without antipanic option). Have been working with a Petzl Rig for a while, but after half a year and really large drops it began to slip to much, so I decided to switch to Spark. No complains so far, feels much smoother and easier to ascend, but petzl descender in my heart forever

I figured they all just wear out eventually. I've used a Sparrow before as well, and it works good too. Thanks for the info!

@BrodyYYC lmao no, I don't. I do a handful of high-rise a year atm. I was trained by 1 employer, but he was a jackass and I left, and my boss now gave me a big raise to do highrise for him. I'm very part time atm lol. When my ID goes out, I'll definitely get one to try out, thanks.

I have to ask why your back up rope is on one point and has no edge protection at the top ledge or the balcony where you put one around your main line?

Please, explain what do you mean by "one point"? I have 2 points, just deviation for my main line, from anchor where my safety line is, can't see any issues here. 2 ropes, 2 points About rope protection - yeah, I know, I should protect both lines, but I just haven't enough protecrots on-site. @vaskovskiykir6264 Your main line is connected to two points. Your back up line is only connected to one. If your main line was cut you would swing to the right with all your weight on one point and no edge protection to stop your back up line cutting as well. It would be safer to rig your back up line exactly how you did your main line and from the same points, you would also have enough rope protectors this way.

@@alexc-y6529 I see your point, but there's not to much swing to cause serious damage. Not the best technique, but nothing extremely dangerous. P.S. Added do skipped rope protection can actually cause rope damage in case of a fall, so I will avoid it in future and won't show bad examples on YT

Alright, so step by step - salary depends, but working as employee and being pretty fast can get you up to 60k (CAD)/season (from april to early november). There are really few contracts in winter time, so we mostly have time off or different job. Overall, it's nice entry-level job for rope access industry or "ok" career, not sure it gonna work for you if you need stable income (mostly we get paid per piece aka more windows = more money), so if wether is bad, you are sick or any other reason - there is no income at all. On the other hand - some $$ on good days. Hopefully I answered, thanks for your interest

3 observations. 1) I would have both of my ropes equalised I saw that your backup is only on one anchor. 2) to work on your speed for window cleaning o would try to finish the window on 3 movements only. 3) look for the wagtail squeegee it would eliminate the need to change tools

Thanks! 1. Was discussed before, and yeah, I should Y hang both of them. My bad 2. Yes, that make senses and depends on windows 3. Prefer pair of tools, bc wagtail/moerman gets dirty really quickly on this amount of windows + personal preference But yeah, valid points, thanks a lot

I use moerman tools. It works better on 10 degrees or 5 degrees. Its much easier to turn. Try it 👍

Oh man, you can make fair money as an experiencced guy, working for piece, but hourly guys making 18-25 here, in Toronto. But there is nothing in winter time((

@@SuperBobchang I would say it extremely slow season every. You still have some jobs once in a while. Some guys on wind turbines stop working at all. Overall depends on the company, you still can find some part time jobs, definitely NDT or general construction

@@brianwestmoreland3836 I don't think that brush make sense on low rises/residential. Main advantage - it's not getting dirty as quick as mop does and give more "scraping" (not sure about the right word). It works good for large amounts of extremely dirty windows, as we do have on high rises. On low rises you need more accuracy, and brush have a lot of drips when you taking it from the bucket + you can't work with a pole. If you have really dirty windows down there - just use mop and technopad

one quick question . what if , you have to pee while hanging up there ?

Oh, its not an issue. Drops like this take around an hour and buildings basically have staff washrooms. But on longer jobs you need to be more strategic and do all your things before ;)
