Way to go Carrie - crushing it for all us women in our 60’s! I’ve done enough section hiking (including the roller coaster) to know how hard it is out there. But you are moving along with such composure and quiet confidence that you make it look like a stroll in the park. I’m pulling for you every step of the way! OMG - Stumpknocker! I used to follow his hikes on Trailjournals. He’s a trail legend.

Congrats on 1000 miles. The next states will go much faster. 2 years ago, when I did trail magic, Dr Pepper was $0.22 a 12 oz. can. Now the best sale is $0.52. Heat exhaustion is very dangerous. 50 years ago I had a BN CDR who was oblivious to what we were going through. He made us train in a CAT IV day(toooo hot). We had 25 heat strokes in 2 hours. That ended the BN CDR's career and we got a new BN CDR. I find that as I got older, I am much more likely to get heat exhaustion on a hot day so I stop frequently and force myself to drink.
