We're not that far, maybe in 4-5 GPU generations this will be mid range. The 4090 can already render amazingly realistic graphics in Cyberpunk 2077 with some mods, the car models look pretty much like real! And look at it this way, the 3060ti, one of the lower end 30 series cards can match the power of the 1080ti, the flagship card 2 generations back. So if we continue that level of progression, it's not far at all.

I have no idea what this is but this is the first time I genuinely think this looks life like.

The car looks clean. You can add dirt or dust or dull appearance or battle damage.

If the paint wasn't that glossy it would look absolutely real. The mirror like finish gives it away. But crazy impressive.

GTA 6 is trying to blend realism with more stylized graphics and that's a good thing. Realistic graphics that only focuses on trying to mimic reality close as possible ages worse and just a boring thing to look at after a while.
