I expect that when you were filming the shoe tree you had to be thinking, "there has to be a better pair of shoes in that tree". Good luck with your new shoes!!

Of all the hundreds of AT hiking videos I've watched, I think your sunny dry view of Blood Mountain is the one of the very few I've seen. It always seems to be rainy, windy and foggy in everyone's videos. Sending all the good vibes that your feet will heal and the new shoes will work out fine. #teamtaylor

Injinji Toe Socks! Yeah, I can't talk those socks up enough. I love 'em. But, last year during a section hike on the AT I had a 4 mile nero and decided, like you did, that since they were wet and I was only doing a few miles, my feet would be fine. It was a definite mistake and I regretted the decision for the rest of that hike. Bottom line: Find the right combo of socks , liners and shoes that work, and stay with it as long as possible, rain or shine. Hope your feet recover quickly! Happy trails! Really enjoy your videos.

I’ve been following some through hikers for a few weeks now. Incredibly you are the first to summit Blood Mountain and tour the shelter up there in the sunshine. Your video gave me a totally different perspective. I’m delighted you’ve been having such great weather. I can see by your shot of the camping area that there are a lot more people on the trail than two weeks ago. I hope it’s a sign that the sun will be shining on your hike.

They were quite a bit stiffer than what I was used to but figured the doc would know what was best...ended up making problem worse. I have found replacement specialty insoles to be quite tricky...never found a pair that really alleviated anything better than a fresh pair of what I was already wearing...for me those are Salomon’s ... 20 yrs and still w same brand.
