What a nice hostel! It looks very quiet and nice that you can be in a church. I loved the sign welcoming you guys..that was a super nice touch. Lovely views on that section. I missed seeing you guys doing your state countdown though when you left NJ! I'm happy to see you still strong and happy and headed north. DDB

I believe that video is coming up we are a week behind on vids and NY and NJ act like TN and NC..walking the border of both

Porcupines do not hibernate, so are active even in the winter.

Don’t know if you follow any hikers but one I follow, 5Stack just finished Katahdin. Y’all are on your way! Beautiful hike.

Congratulations on seeing your first porcupine. I saw my first one 2 years ago in the Keweenaw as it muddled across the road. You two are doing amazing! Your current pace seems like a super hero pace. Who'd thunk?

We are not moving very fast but we have a plan to finish by seotember..

Porcupines DO NOT!!! shoot or throw their quills. Their quills are barbed on the end so that if a predator such as a dog tries to bite them, many barbed quills pull out and get "hooked" in their gums and cheeks. A vet will typically have to sedate ($$$!!!) the dog to rem

I read about them right after that and learned they do not shoot their quills..lol..I think I watched too much bugs bunny or something
