Renze New Village near Daxi Fishing Port in Toucheng Town, Yilan County, is the new hometown of Guishan Island residents after they collectively moved to the village. Daxi Fishing Port was the port for visiting Guishan Island in the Japanese era. In the 13th year of Showa (1938), a ship traveling to Guishan Island suffered a major shipwreck. Therefore, a "Monument to the Souls of Victims of Guishan Island Touring" was erected on the promontory of Daxi Fishing Port to commemorate this shipwreck incident.
