Well it'd be hard to make a game that takes place in the 1st Era seeing as how the events had transpired with the decimation of the Dwemer and the change of the Chimer. Perhaps a 5th Era game would be a good idea. Or a time before the 1st Era.

I love the music to this game period. Walking up the mountain path with the purple background, glowing animals was pretty. Then, coming around the corner up into the vale, this music started. I seriously started tearing up it was so pretty. Thank goodness my husband convinced me to try it on pc. I've missed Skyrim's beauty for two years now.

3:10 Diary of Faire Agarwen , Falmer Refugee We know that we can never again be the Snow Elves and live freely in this world. We will forever be in hiding in one form or another. But there is no reason we cannot live life with the sun and the wind against our skin. There are those here who are friends to us and plan to help us once the threat has ended. We know now to survive we must be born anew. Outside, we will appear as though we belong here. Inside, we will carry our truth and our scars.

Dear God the feels. I just recalled my disbelief the first time I left the maze and saw the scenery. Then the music starts and I felt like I entered holy ground. When I learned the full story I wept like a baby for the poor Falmer. Ysgramor truly was a cold-hearted butcher and the Dwemer monsters worse than every Daedra combined. They earned their fate and then some. And to think this is just fiction. Skyrim truly is a masterpiece of epic proportions. The next Elder Scrolls game has a lot to live up to.

  • @Xirokami

The reason I cried so much was because I hated the Falmer so much... “Ugly, monstrous goblins!” I called them... then this expansion pack came out, I met the Snow Elf and he revealed... everything... if my character could have fallen to her knees and begged forgiveness from that Mer, I would have made her do it. I used to use the Falmer to clear out ruins and level up... they were my playthings. I’d realized after hearing the awful and heartbreaking truth that I had become just like the Dwemer. The race I was so fascinated and immersed in had become the very thing I should have been against. Then I saw their beautiful piece of land and their temple... was reminded of what they currently were, and realized what they once were. God damn it, whoever designed this entire franchise is a goddamn genius.

Oh, how this music makes me weep so much for the glorious past of the Falmer. :*( May they live in peace unknown to the Nords, and may they know again their past glory...for their treatment at the hands of their own cousins, the Dwemer, was an undeserved fate. May they prosper in their 'Forgotten' Vales & ancient lands known only to them, unseen by the Nords. The Falmer aren't gone yet, and they shall persist. Knight-Paladin Gelebor, be their guiding light and one day restore them to the forms they once knew before the Dwemer betrayal. This music provokes deep thought, reminiscing, yearning for days long gone by...any Falmer even in their current state would weep upon hearing music like this. It is a perfect representation of the sad condition of their people now. As Gelebor believes, hope still remains...

***** Yep, this music is a true masterpiece. Fitting for the Falmer. Opinion/Perspective time :3 You've gotta realize...the Atmoran (not Nords at the time) 500 Companions were completely set on being "douchebags" under Ysgramor's campaign of revenge. We have nothing clearly stating that the Falmer or the Atmorans were 100% in the right or wrong. It's all left up to speculation, despite the Lore on the issue. All the Lore does is provide the perspectives of opposing sides (and most of the Atmoran-perspective Lore on the subject is pure propaganda). There was no "massacre" of the Atmorans, that's for sure. A "massacre" is exactly what Ysgramor painted it as, but the goal of the Falmer was really to drive the Atmorans out of Skyrim (not slaughter every one of them). It's not just "man gaining more power over mer" or even a population issue... It also has a great deal of involvement from the Eye of Magnus. We may not know for certain what the real goal of the Falmer was in driving the Atmorans out of *Mereth* (Skyrim), or it could've been multiple reasons...but the Eye of Magnus is definitely a big one. Based on evidence from the Lore, as well as in-game evidence from Skyrim...I'm inclined to believe the Falmer were right in doing what they did (or at least they saw what they were doing as "right"). The Falmer obviously had a very different world-view in their culture than the Thalmor of the 4th Era did, and more importantly...they most likely sought to drive the Atmorans out because they didn't trust those humans with the use of such a dangerous magical artifact. The Dwemer, of course, ultimately betrayed them & brought them into their current sad state of existence. (EDIT): One day...the Falmer *will* return to glory! They will regain not just the forms they had before, but also knowledge of the past civilization that their people were once part of...all with the guidance of Knight-Paladin Gelebor. Seriously though...I'd love to play as a Falmer character in a future game. I've already made up a list of Skill bonuses, Powers, & passive abilities for a Falmer Race. :D Ah well...as of now, that's just left up to Mods.

  • @whiteraven1992

    @whiteraven1992

    10 жыл бұрын

***** Even this certain article may enlighten one on the role of the Eye of Magnus in the conflict: aurbis.c0da.es/ayrenn/ayrenn.pdf (^ Revised "KINMUNE" Text) We all know the Night of Tears happened. However, what was the Night of Tears really? It can't have been a 'massacre' in reality if plenty of Atmorans were left alive to run back to Atmora. If it really was genocide? Perhaps not. However, the razing of Saarthal & driving out the Atmorans wasn't really "genocide" (basically repeating myself here)...Otherwise Ysgramor wouldn't be back with an army to face those who burned Saarthal to the ground. There's certainly a strong indication that genocide was never the intent, from the Falmer perspective. Just drive them away. As far as anyone really "knows", Ysgramor simply just painted the event as genocide in a form of propaganda to get many followers. Jyrik Gauldurson is not the strongest example of possible Atmoran misuse/abuse of the Eye, but he is definitely a candidate for why the Falmer started to doubt the Atmoran's claims of supposedly being a "peaceful" people. __________________________________ Onto the other point: At least we can still be fairly certain that the Falmer had a very different perspective (especially due to their religion, how they perceived "Auriel" the Sun-God/Aedra, etc.) You and me both :D I do certainly hope the Falmer become playable again someday in a future TES game. Until then (& certainly not in TESO)...there's always Mods in Skyrim for a playable Snow Elf/Falmer Race. Speaking of which...I wonder if there are any Mods that allow that. I might just make my own Snow Elf Mod (with all my skill-bonus & passive/ability ideas)

Considering that the change into the "Betrayed" that they experienced was most likely magical in nature (not even just from the toxic mushrooms)... I doubt it'll take *that* long, into the 8th Era. By the way, it's: *Insert day here* of Last Seed (month) of 8E *insert year here* :3

Evolution doesn't quite work as you would expect in TES fiction. Certainly not the same as it does in real-life. The Lore may have more truth to it than we'd like to believe, and even Gelebor's dialogue on it may also have truth (his dialogue on what caused his people to become the "Betrayed"). After all, Nirn is a magical world & gods/spirits are very real. I'd say Magic may as well have been a contributing factor. A major factor would be those toxic mushrooms force-fed to the Falmer by their Dwemer cousins. I have no doubts that Knight-Paladin Gelebor will find a way to get the Falmer back on their feet & ready to regain their past glory, before even the 4th Era ends.

Beautiful music for a beautiful setting. But the tone of this music reminds you that though beautiful the Vale was home to a tragedy. The Snow elves as far as we know where made extinct here ironic being it was their betrayed own kind and one of their own.

If *Richard Wagner* met and fell in love with *Gustav Mahler* - *_despite*_* how inconceivable, how impossible as that would seem, given their respective natures, the inexorable context of (their respective) history - this _utterly sublime_ piece would be the music their union would engender....

The first time I went through the forgotten vale, I remember going through it out at night. Hearing this music while going through this valley at night, it felt so majestic. No wonder why Jeremy Soule and David Wise are two of my favorite video game composers. I love both of their music.

Songs like this make hope for better times and better days. Days when men, beast, and elf all accept one another as mortals, rejoicing in common fellowship. The tragedy of the Snow elves is sad indeed, and most certainly something we should learn from.

I don't remember if I actually found the Forgotten Vale on the PS3 version, because when I played Special Edition on Steam a few years back, I got to this part and was blown away by the visuals and music of it all. it didn't look familiar to me. All I remembered from that version was Fort Dawnguard, Castle Volkinhar, the Soul Cairn, Solstheim and Herma Mora's plane of Oblivion. Unless you have to go through the Forgotten Vale to get Auriel's Bow or whatever. I don't remember, mmkay?

People may put Dragonborn as the superior DLC, but "Touching the Sky" is *untouchable* when it comes to choosing the best quest of them all. Forgotten Vale, this soundtrack, the best companion and a brutal prophecy to be stopped. I always connect the music on 7:50 to the moment our Dragonborn finds out that in order to fullfill the prophecy, Serana needs to be sacrificed... and that cannot happen by any chance.

Thanks :) It doesn't mean to say the original wasn't compressed. I just didn't compress it further to my knowledge. I'm sure there are other options like KZread Repeat that you could use if you want to have your video/song of choice playing in another tab constantly. If you want to download any video, simply go onto Keepvid.com, paste in the video link and it gives you a number of download options like what quality you want,or if you want to download it as an MP3 file.

I must admit, I hated the falmer. I quickly put together the jist of the "reduced to this", but I always felt that it is any people's responsability to not turn into monsters in the face of monstrosity. Everyone suffers. As much as I feel one and two hints of sympathy for them, they are no longer what they used to be. They are now a kill-everything-that-moves abomination. *aim, inhale, arrow*
