Dawn of war is such a huge part of why I’m a fan of the universe. I can’t read “for the emperor” without hearing the space marines battle cry from it. Whoever did the voice acting in it was so good.

Alcohol like chaos can become a love hate relationship.

It’s amazing seeing the effect Dawn of War had on so many others. Without a free copy of Dark Crusade thrown in with my parents PC when I was young, I wouldn’t of been able to discover this amazing hobby. I’d love to see a video of you kitbashing more unique DoW models that don’t have a like-for-like tabletop equivalent!

one thing I did to help work out the sizes of my many random bases was to outline the different base sizes on the box I store my bases in. Sounds so simple, but doing this has saved me so much time.

I want to see a series where Eon does the unthinkable; finishes his pile of shame

Triumph of st Katherine is the best centerpiece model I’ve ever had. Am I mad that it’s been six months and haven’t even fully glued down or finished painting each character?… yes… yes I am. But hey, 80% done

There are so many great sculpts for both units and bits in the DoW series that GW just ignored. Considering how few hit Warhammer games exist, it's amazing that they failed to cash in plastic-wise on both the success of this and Total War.

♡ DoW! I have over a thousand multiplayer games as Chaos in the Dark Crusade expansion of the first Dawn of War game. That game was what got me into WH40k Universe. The game itself was a masterpiece (just forget they made those joke games DoWII and DoWIII). Nice paintjob Jay. Am thinking on getting an airbrush set, maybe for Xmas. I am a painting beginner, currently learning how to's on some SM and Necron, but the day will come that I'll get my Chaos army. And will paint 'em in a true Chaos way. Chaos is the only true answer! The Dawn of War terrain is what I want on my shelf man.

I just want to say that I watch a LOT of youtube while I work and your channel is by FAR my favorite! I never miss a video if I can help it :D

I still play modded Dawn of War to this day and considering I don't have disposable income it's probably the only way I'll be able to experience the tabletop's more cool units. Oh also Cultists in DoW1 probably have the funniest voiceacting in the whole game. Just the way they beg for support and yell out "AUGH! I BLEED!" (yes it's not actually "AUGH! MY SPLEEN!") in combat along with their "ChAAAaaarge!" made them so, _so_ funny to me.

The tip for the gold was really good. I have heard to paint silver then gold on top. I’ll have to try the orange ink. Thanks gents fantastic as always!!

I always loved the close up of the Dawn Of War cultists with the dark robes , stubble and tattoos.

Chaos are so much fun! I have managed to collect a little over 5,000 pts and it ranges anywhere from my 2,000 pts of Chaos knights all the way down to my crazy little cultists and I just absolutely love painting them because of how much you can keep them cohesive while also having totally different paint schemes from each other!!!

OMG, I thought I was the only weirdo that smelled the box of new minis!!!!!

A compressor with a reserve tank reduces the amount of moisture in the line. Very helpful for this time of year.

Nurgle is the best chaos god because he actually loves and cares for his followers

You can put some blue tac over the sprue and the fiddly part you are afraid of breaking and then just clip it. The tac will absorb all the stress

For Chaos we are strong! Raaaagh My favorite painted terrain piece in my collection are the Tyranid bio buildings from DOW. Freaking cool looking. Unique designs!

Your flames look great. I recently found a paint recipe that gives similar results. Corax white, iyanden yellow followed by fuegan orange. Then flesh tearers red with a black and carronburg crimson mix to finish it off.

Dawn of War was a near perfect series. The Khorne Berserkers shouting out "We need a new driver this one is dead" getting out of the Rhino. Just about anything involving Orks like when you are playing against other Orks their first reaction is "OI those Boiz think they are arder than us, GET'EM". The Upgrade you get in Dark Crusade where you get free boyz and what the Orkz do to the Dark Eldar in Soul Storm, turning throwing them in their own cages into a sport cause of the moons low gravity never fails to put a smile on my face. One of the most rewarding parts of the game to me is when playing Imperial Guard and you bought enough time to throw out a BaneBlade, every faction has the same reaction "Oh no..."

Hi Jay you know the voice over you do to describe how you converted and painted the mini? I'd love you to do a video where you decide all the steps and EACH and EVERY color you use BEFORE and record the descriptive voiceover first! Then film the video of you converting-basing-painting the mini after! With the VO it makes it sound as everything is planned and you know exactly what you're going to do but I bet you just make it up as you go!? :D So this would be a fun way to try to paint in the way the videos make it seem to! :)

still play Dawn of War almost every other week. some of those voice lines are burned into my brain.

Worshiping Chaos and worshiping the Emperor are certainly not the same thing. The Imperium aren't the "good guys" but chaos definitely are the "bad guys".

I love using the 28mm bases for like frag bomb traps and the like for Necromunda and the balls in Blood Bowl because it helps you not to lose the tiny ass plastic parts

The Triumph of St Katherine model has the same problem as all the other "I'm a leader with a buncha peons on my base" models. While they are technically good models... they are really just dioramas and they look ridiculous on the battlefield. Silent King and the newish Mortarch guy from AoS are the same thing.

If you're attempting to put the triumph of saint katherine behind cover or put it on a vantage point, you're playing it wrong. You should be drawing a straight line from your end of the board to the enemy's and marching it right down the middle.

Man, I wish Songify This would burst from its internet grave and seize that basing bits montage... maybe the Kiffness can do something with it.

I actually think bases detract from the game use of the model. Nothing takes me out of a game on a green grassy plane like a bunch of orange sand bases. They look great if you are just a collector.

Hey EOB, for the flesh tone you said you mix pink and grey but a moment later you called it blueish grey. Curious which you used? Suppose I could just experiment with both.

If your model is 70% and your base is 70% bring it to 100%. Maths, yeah! 👍😘

im sorry jay but for gold, nothing beats vallejo liquid gold through an airbrush, no annoying pigment chunks i can see unlike gw metallics, its the best gold paint on the market

Never been a fan of Dawn of War. C&C however perfectly managed to capture a Guard Vs. Cultist feeling, across the main games at least.

That smaller base looks more like the 25mm.

Will you be selling the monthly DOW files as their own thing later?
