i have noticed that desi canadians have much more bonding with their relatives,culture then americans desi,might be the extreme weather they face is one of the factor which causes you to stay indoors so you dont have much interactions with people in your neighborhood etc.

Hey Talha, it's actually not the extreme weather. There is no scientific correlation between extreme weather and being close to your culture. New York city get's pretty cold (comparable to Toronto) during some times of the years. I have spent 10 years in Canada and 2 years in the USA and what I find is that Canadian Pakistanis are closer to their culture because Canada's own culture is not as strong as the US. The US has so many small details to what it means to being American which can cause alot of implicit naturalization. In Canada, it is very encouraged to preserve culture (dressing, religion, food) and usually people are able to do so without fearing getting racist backlash. However, after seeing this comparison of Desis in US and Canada, I think there are pros and cons to both kinds of people. I can go on and on about this topic haha.

@@talhahabib339 I'm a Canadian Pakistani and I think it's because we are first or second-generation only whereas American Pakistanis have been living in America for longer this makes us closer to our parent's culture. Also, Canadian-Pakistani mostly lives in Toronto and surrounding areas which is very multicultural compared to America where everyone is mostly white and American culture is more dominant.

@@dodere2001 there is not a direct verse on it to say it haram. But it goes against towards the teachings of Islam. And any Islamic Scholar will tell you that it is wrong to use this in emoji and real life.
