I love tieflings and she is also a bard. When she flirts: ”You know, I’m a tiefling so I’m already ....” (point at horns)

A tiefling build I recently came up with: Battlemaster fighter with sentinel feat. Once your enemy comes into your range, they are doomed because you have a reaction for every possibility. Trys to run --> gets hit and speed reduces to zero, so no running away (Sentinel) Attacks someone else --> gets hit (Sentinel) Attacks me and miss --> gets hit (Battlemaster with riposte maneuver) Attacks me and hits --> gets exploded (Hellish rebuke from Tiefling racial ability) I came up with it while thinking about ways to maximize the times I can hit an enemy. And hitting more is always good. Technically I threw in 3 levels of monk multiclass as well so I can punch twice as a bonus action and trip my enemys, but that isnt really neccessary.

Ehhhh id rather grab some levels in warlock... and just go hexblade or such... I personally don't see much use in just one singular hellish rebuke, or was a nice addition to my paladin but again its daily

I hear a lot of people complain that tieflings are OP. Remember that they still have human heritage. They're literally just super edgy, broody humans that are weird colors sometimes and come with a couple magic tricks. Of *course* they're OP. They're also super fun to play.

one thing that i did for my homebrew world was i made tieflings and aasimar opposite because of the way the world treats them. tieflings are pushed down and mistreated for their looks and "heritage", however this makes common tieflings want to break away from the stereotypes and develop a "not wanting to prove them right" kinda attitude. they will most of the time be good, or mostly chaotic good because of this "up-bringing". aasimar however are brought up and revered just because they are half celestial. this will lead to them gaining some form of power and status at a young age, and this power leads to decadence. aasimar will turn out to be selfish and evil, abusing the prophetic heritage they were born with. it is rare for a aasimar's angelic guardian to stay with them if they go down this path, but others dont know that... both fight against the standards thrusted upon them, but in very unexpected ways.

HOLY CRAP THIS VIDEO GAVE ME AN IDEA FROM A CHARACTER A tiefling couple drop their baby child in a gnome village because they know it’s the only place where their child won’t be discriminated against. The gnomes raise the baby tiefling, not disowning him/her because their villages isolation has made them unaware of the tiefling stereotypes. He/she grows up under the gnomes care and when the gnomes finally catch wind of the stereotypes they still decide not to exile him/her because they have seen who he/she really is. When the tieflings powers kick in when they grow up the tiefling uses these powers to defend their village from any assailants whom the quiet village can’t fend off themselves. I haven’t figured out an adventuring motivation yet, but I know it won’t be anything edgy, with the tieflings gnome raising

If i ever have a player clever enough to try using their horns, I'll let them. I'd give them a penalty, and it would likely only be a D4 piercing, but hey, if your unarmed, not a bad option.

Probably because the horns are depicted as curly and not really suited for headbutting. Like, look at the tieflings horns that curve backwards, and then a minotaur's that go straight forward.

1) Not all tieflings have horns (Some tieflings look very human) 2) Not all horns are the same. Some are pointy, others are blunt and curly. Thus different damage type. 3) Tieflings are not brutes. They have an affinity towards magic, not towards headbutting people. 4) Tieflings are not OP. Holding back on an extra attack option helps to keep them that way.

When he said all Tieflings have no pupils, I was very confused by Jester having normal eyes....then I remember she's half tiefling.

Half tiefling, half water genasi, so probably 1/2 human (or something), 1/4 demon, and 1/4 water elemental

You never forget your first town you burn down as a tiefling

That last part about how people don't know what to expect from a Tiefling is something I really care about. That's why when I play a Tiefling, I make sure that everyone knows exactly what I'm capable of. Especially the peasants. That way, they're not afraid of what I might do. You know, because I already did it.

Just loving the inclusion of Molly and Jester art. Made my day.

My current one is Eldritch knight/Hexblade using Zariel. Wanted to be a wizard, was only above average in Intellect, was drafted due to BULGING MUSCLES and when he had his back against the wall in Ravenloft, he found his cry for help answered by the Ravens Queen herself who bestowed him the power of fuck off melee combat abilities (and I know there's a UA raven queen patron, but why wouldn't she want a willing and useful swordsman spellslinger to just not get better at his job by making him a Hexblade? She made the damn things in the first place.).

I wonder what a Lucifer Tiefling would be like? I imagine it’d be the most “normal” looking one (ie not devil looking) and would stuff related to the “Prince Of Lies” motif. Maybe an alternate version would be the Satan Tiefling, which is more “Wrath” based and EXTREMELY devil like, nigh Balrog-esqu, in reference to their lineage coming from The Beast. Just some thoughts.

Nobody not a soul: Tieflings: I HAVE THE POWER OF HELL AND ANIMATIN ON MY SIDE!!

I made a variant rule you may like to use on your games: Pureblood Tieflings are born with an extra thumb on each hand. The way a Pureblood Tiefling is born is through two Tiefling parents (Demonic Heritage can be different). The child will only have the Demonic Heritage of one parent, but the blood of the parent of which the child does not have will empower it's demonic blood. Example: A Levistus Tiefling and a Zariel Tiefling have a baby. Said baby is born with the powers and appereance of the Zariel parent. Even if none of the parents had an extra thumb to begin with, the baby will, for the Levistus parent's blood empowered it's demonic heritage. Although, the Levistus parent will be shunned and frowned upon by Tieflingkind for being "weak of blood". In my homebrew world, Tiefling interbreeding is common in Tielfing royal families (kind of like Targaryens), and five-fingered Tieflings are seen as low-class citizens by citizens of the lowest-class

Tieflings are the best! My favorite PC is Veldyn, the Tiefling Hexblade (Pact of the Chain). He’s big into worshiping the Raven Queen (He’s about to take a Cleric level) and his best friend is his Raven familiar, Corsiva. He’s from a noble background, and is actually really good friends with the party’s Paladin.

Eyyy i played my first DnD game yesterday. I got help with my character and I picked rogue tiefling, so now im trying to look it up. It's really fun.

I recently made a new Tiefling sorcerer of the Mephistopheles variety, and tieflings are by far one of my favourite races in D&D

I always wanted to run a Celestial Tiefling Warlock and a Fiend Aasimar Warlock who are each other's patrons and best friends.

My first D&D character was (Well ‘is’ but the campaign in question hasn’t really gotten a chance to continue) a Tiefling bard named Tartinos and I love him. He’s a standup comedian bard from a backwater village that never knew his parents but was raised by a bunch of peasants with likeminded, revolutionary ideals. He’s kind of a Robin Hood figure who scams and pranks wealthy merchants to redistribute to the poor. He also has a fear of crucifixes because of an event when he was younger where a bunch of clergymen tried to perform an exorcism on him because they thought he was some sort of antichrist. He’s also the most aroace thing on the planet because I’m aroace and I like the idea that he’s the polar opposite of the stereotypical flirty bard.

Sweet Skys I played a pacifist Aasimar Cleric once. My only mistake was playing her in a party where everyone else was Chaotic Neutral and judged value based off damage output. I saved our rogue’s life once, but in the chaos, all his equipment was lost and destroyed (except his magic Rapier, WHICH I SAVED), and he was mad at me even out of character. He said that I should have let him die so that he could roll up a new character with good loot.

My tiefling is less a pacifist and more a coward with pathetic stick arms.

It's not as simple as they look evil and prejudice pushed them to be evil, their bloodline urges them to do evil. This is why in past editions tieflings were commonly of an evil alignment. "Most tieflings were aware from an early age that they were different from others around them, and were given to strange urges and desires because of their unusual ancestry."

If you think about it, considering that tieflings and aasimar can both pop up randomly at any time in their families lineage, it's completely possible for a tiefling and an aasimar to be full siblings. It's just that a fiendish bloodline and and a celestial bloodline happened to intersect at some point in the family history.

I see my man Tibalt there. One day he'll get a GOOD Planeswalker card.

I love playing tieflings, one of my favorite is having this upbeat traveling playwrite-type character as a bard(usually whispers of shadow, play it up like he's discovering some dark side of his abilities), then multiclass down the line to warlock either because he's discovered the root of his demonic linage (and thus allowing the slightest of 'darkening' of a character), or because he wants to screw that guy over somehow with his rival...or dick around with Fey because hey, I got horns, they (sometimes) have horns and we all just want to party. Some more then others.

Tieflings,gnomes,goliaths and tabaxi are my favorite races so thanks for this.

My first character, which I only started playing as last year, is a Tiefling Druid. He’s not excessively broody or angsty but he’s not some kind of flamboyant dandy. He’s got a pretty edgy backstory, but it’s not stereotypical, and he deals with it well. Overall, he’s pretty well adjusted. The funny thing is, if you hear his backstory and you look at his physical appearance, your immediate reaction will probably be to roll your eyes thinking this is gonna be the typical edge lord Tiefling. I specifically went into making this character with a lot of cool ideas on how to use the devilish heritage and make a compelling character without falling into one of the stereotypical Tiefling “archetypes” and I’m really pleased with how he turned out. If anybody wants to hear the backstory or anything I can put it here but unless anybody asks I’m not gonna bother with that

The SCAG variant options are limited but cool flavor wise because they came with a little blurb on making your tiefling their own brand of demonic.

Tieflings are not only extremely customizable in terms of stats, but story as well. There are so many different ways for them to respond to their infernal features and the persecution that comes along with it. One of my favorite characters I've ever made was a sun soul tiefling that was born into a human family, then shipped off to a monastery because the people feared it as an ill omen. He learned peace, respect, and kindness. Something he never would have living among persecution.

And yet in Critical Role's second campaign one particular Tiefling is a high class mistress of the night and her reputation precedes her. Her daughter is also a trickster cleric.

My first character was a Tiefling. Basically, he was born in one of the hells. His mother was a succubus, but his father was a dwarf with a Tiefling somewhere in his family tree. He grew up as the devils’ plaything, meaning they beat him endlessly and put him in fights he couldn’t win. During his young adulthood, he met someone who’d just arrived in hell, a warlock who’d just died and didn’t plan on staying that way. He helped the young Tiefling escape, seeing him as a friend and helpful ally, and they met up again in the mortal world, with the warlock now inhabiting his old skeleton. My character spent the rest of his time following the warlock around, as his mind had never properly developed and he had no sense of individuality. (Luckily the Warlock didn’t plan on going back to his old ways since he saw where that had gotten him the first time.) So they went about their lives, joining up with one party after another and wandering about, neither of them ever content to sit still.

I like making a sniper tiefling as an artificer artillerist/fighter gun slinger multiclass using the bad news and force bilista in one weapon

That moment when The halfling Bard decides to dress it up as a succubus by taking the armor off of a succubus and putting it on the tiefling

My last Tiefling character was a Chaotic Good Warlock of Orcus named Kayon Drakarthai, he only made the pact to get revenge on a group of humans who slaughtered his family, he basically was gonna have a redemption arc but my DM made the twist that his actual father was the Demon Lord Graz'zt The Dark Prince, so with that my Warlock became a Cambion and it was a hell of a lot of fun

Thinking of making a healing tiefling doctor either a paladin or a cleric not sure yet nor am I sure of the subrace as I’m trying to go against type and not have a tragic backstory

Welcome to the Cult of Rakdos, my bards and warlocks.

The idea of Tieflings not really having an organized society reminds me of Bael Tur in the Greyhawk setting that was one of the only places where they lived for long periods of time. Before a war with dragonborns wrecked the place. It makes me wonder how Tieflings would be considered in a setting/planet where having devil bloodline (or demonic for Cambions) isn’t a big thing. Either way thanks for he entertaining video as per usual!
