Davisson Brothers Band - Dark as a Dungeon: Coal Miner Stories (Episode 4 - Kristy)

Музыка

In the hills of West Virginia, Chris and Donnie Davisson interview local coal miners about their experience working in the mines of the Appalachian Mountains.
In episode four, Kristy discusses her father's experience working in the coal mines, as well as her experience working with coal miners. Tune in to learn more!
Dark as a Dungeon is an anthem for hard workers everywhere who spend weeks away from family, and in some cases in extreme conditions. The song is also a cautionary tale, “come listen all of you fellas so young and so fine….seek not your fortunes,” warns a knowing Davisson. “It’ll become a habit that’s attached to your soul….there’s just no escaping that life in the hole.” The hole being literal (for some) and for others a metaphor for the endless pursuit of earning money, while spending time away from family and loved ones.

Kristys dad is a perfect example of what you would picture when you think of a good, honest hard working West Virginian...Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.
