Paul Stan I listen to his battle field walks several times. I also enjoy his participation in the winter lectures. His information is dispensed with humor. History shows s people not dry fact. Making the soldiers and leaders human is even more heart wrenching at times. He paints word pictures.

Pettigrew`s NC Brigade had just joined Lee`s ANV in May. In April of 1863 they were in eastern North Carolina in Greene County guarding bridges near Hookerton&Snow Hill NC. They were part of the reinforcements Lee gathered before invading Pennsylvania. The 26th NC Infantry Regiment was the largest regiment in either Army@Gettysburg with about 950 men. They were decimated at Gettysburg.

The knowledge about the Skirmishers and their role in the Battle at Gettysburg well it helped me while playing Ultimate General: Civil War. I had previously abstained from using professional Skirmishers or a dedicated skirmisher unit in previous play throughs. The campaign I invested in dedicated sharpshooter skirmishers I lost 15 - 20 % less forces in every battle due to the increased battlefield awareness and how surprisingly good small units were at hiding on the flanks and inflicting large amounts of chaos with the range they had over normal infantry. Dumb but you learn things at times and use them at others. Thanks Matt always love getting my historical itch scratched during your lectures. Also as a side effect sometimes you help me with Civil War Strategy games just by being so detailed.

They were reburying the solider that the gentleman spoke of here, who had recently been discovered as his body began to emerge from the ground, at or near the railroad cut. It is my understanding that his hand, and/or arm, had been spotted sticking up from the ground.

I hope Stuff writer keeps on posting videos. Of all the ranger talks. It’s so appreciated by those who can’t visit Gettysburg anymore. I’m not find if the town. It’s a tourist trap. With mindless restaurants called Picketts charge. I’ve seen ignorant tourists in the battlefield especially teens dumb as ticks trying to climb monuments. I feel no pity for anyone hurt on them. Stupid is stupid. Tgey don’t care that men died there 150 years ago. People who take digs in battlefield walks are in idiot category also. It’s where men fought and died it’s not a dog park. Do they do same things in national cemetery? Quite likely. The same idiots who hunt for orbs.

Extremely well done talk. The ability to tie together details impressed me. Sees nepotism was rampant jn both armies. With political generals in the Union Army plus people in the Southern forces seemingly not supporting Lee it was a wonder they weren’t all killed at Gettysburg. Some had seen the Union troops at Gettysburg but the idiot Hill refused to believe it. What a waste!! Stupid generals idiotic subordinates worn out infantry. They had already lost-before they got to Gettysburg. The Union had more guns and more men. Lee was s good man but was an idiot responsible for the massacre of thousands
