It seems that I'm the only one who enjoy it... It's my favourite contestant even if he's eliminated... And I don't understand how people say he cannot dance,... He's a four time world champion... Perhaps you just don't get this kind of dance...

Trust, you're not the only one who enjoyed this, a lot of us did ... but, this being KZread, those who couldn't possibly begin to do what he does, or those who have NO idea how it's done put on their "I know it all" hats and instead of saying something like - "I didn't get it, so I don't like it" or "IMO I didn't like it" and leaving that sentence ended - they carry on and sometimes on and on. My response often to those folks often is "When you appear on BGT and do [X], be sure to do it just like you've described."

It is not that he can't dance. His dancing does not stand out, and the music too was a very bad choice (I agree with Simon's complete comment!!!!). Last but not the least, and this has nothing to do with his performance, there is no hologram there, as stated in the title of video. What we have here is a modern version of a video effect that has been around since the time of Fred Astaire and the beginnings of sound movies some 90 years ago.

If only non-dancers could see how well this was choreographed. I haven't seen a tapper like that for years.

the problem isn't his feet, he's an excellent tap dancer. The problem is that tap dancing isn't only about moving the feet, it's about performance and animating with your whole body. You can't be static like that the whole time. Especially not with such a song. To be a great tap dancer, you must have rhythm as well

He is an Irish step dancer not a tap dancer. These two styles are different. Look it up.

I'd like to see Simon Cowell try this kind of dancing. He keeps making comments that David is not a good performer, and that's ABSURD! Does he realize that he's talking to a multi-world champion in Irish dance who's had much more qualified judges?

It could be just me but this person derseves a spot in dancing with stars

As a dancer it is hard to make a tap dance look interesting. And this is the only one I really like.I think he did could. ( No hate on anyone)

Love him! Got to go see his wonderful family and sister last year when I was in Dingle. He’s a true talent!

I’ve seen Irish dancers dance to songs like this such as Riverdance (which I’ve seen once) and it’s something I enjoy. Maybe it isn’t the best song but you rarely see Irish dancers these days. Heck he dances better than me Also not all songs for Irish dancing, are jolly or anything, they can sound epic and sad or scary if you’ve listened to Riverdance long enough (me for some years) And this performance is pretty original, something I never seen before is awesome

This guy knows how to be nationalism and patriot for his country. Britain's got talent is a universal talent show to win is to show your uniqueness and talent

The tapdancer should rather partake in So You Think You Can Dance! His unbelievable talent will be much more appreciated there.....

honestly, eventhough it wasn't that great, i can appreciate how hard he worked on this- i mean look at his face at the end, it seemed that he put so much effort into this, and i love that about him.

Simon doesn't know what he's talking about. He's a fantastic performer. Oh, and by the way he only won worlds 5 times.

I know most people don’t get annoyed by this but the title says tap dancer, Irish dance and tap are soooooooo different.

I really liked it just the way it was. I liked that it was a slower song because it set the mood for the performance which was intense and I could hear, and see, and appreciate better what he was doing with his feet, which was CRAZY fast and cool... and I didn't feel like he was out of sinc with the song, I think he was spot on with the rhythm. I liked the darkness of the special effects as well with the song choice, it was very beautiful and original. 😊 I loved it. I'm sad that the judges didn't seem to appreciate it for how great it really was.

I think its pretty entertaining something about the sound that it makes when ever he moves its like he makes part of the music while he dances

Connie Doherty Has nothing to do with talent. If he can't entertain than no one will pay to watch him.

Waiting for Africa got talent...(a.o) not having any possibility to get any "spotlight!" , but never "seen", heard, experienced before. Only by a few..."Got talent" worldwide! And we will be surprised..

This young man is a marvelous dancer. No question about it. And I understand why he has created this presentation - he wants to win. But he is at his best when dancing alone, or to Irish music. Then he dances from the heart and it's a thrill to see him. "Over the Rainbow," my favorite song, does NOT fit with this wild, magical tradition. I hope he abandons the cinematic trimmings and creates an act that expands the things he loved about the dance.

I'd have to agree with Simon on the choice of music. The music wasn't much to write home about, it didn't fit in with what David was doing at all. I think Simon got it wrong though where he states that David is a better ideas person than a performer. I think it the other way around, by miles!

While I think that he is a very talented dancer, I agree that the song choice was wrong. He is not 'tap' dancing, he is 'step' dancing, which are two different kinds of dance. His performance was almost like watching a step dancer, dancing to opera. He needs to up beat the music to fit the style of dance he is doing.

no simon was right, great idea, great vfx, but the tapping wasn't coordinating with music, felt out of sync. you can either blame the choice of music or choice of steps.

Simon was right here, although the lad is extremely talented. I think you really need to be into that type of dancing to really apreciate it. It's wasn't a deverse enough routine to appeal to the masses

I think tap dancing needs a strong beat, like Riverdance. The song he chose was a slow sweeping lush arrangement that doesn't match properly with the more rhythmic aspect of tap dancing. The song choice was terrible.

Simon is right on, as usual. He calls it like he sees it, and the others play to the crowd and whatever pap is being promoted. Plus look at the female judges on AGT or BGT who wear skimpy outfits that say "look at me" instead of look at the talent.

So firstly clearly he's an amazing dancer, but like Simon, I'm not sure how the dancing, holograms & music went together? I didn't feel it clicked but somewhere deep in his mind there is an idea to make it work. He just needs to have better choice of what he pairs with the dancing.

Just watched the act, but haven't listened to the judge's comments yet. This is the first time I've ever seen and heard tap dancing be off. It didn't go with the song at all. It was monotonous and boring. And his background video didn't go with his dance. Now.... to watch the rest of this and find out what the judges thought.
