He was very well valued in Spain when he was playing for Valencia. When he arrived to Barcelona he was at the end of his career. His greatest moments as a player were in Valencia.

Villa for me is the best striker ever! The reason I say that is whenever I saw him play he just used to glide around the pitch and made everything look so simple and silky smooth. The other key differentiator with him and every other player is that often players need 4/5 or more chances to score a goal. Villa was very different - you give him one chance and the ball is in the back of the net. Simple. His accuracy in finishing off chances is amazing. Not many people know that he is Spain's all time leading goal scorer: 59 goals in 98 games - a number of these games he did not play the full 90 minutes! This should tell everyone how good he is/was. He has also won every major club and international competition - La Liga, Champions League, World Cup, Euros, etc etc...Has Messi or Ronaldo done that? No!! He is massively underrated and an out and out legend!! The best ever!!

@@casanovawnni yes I can understand how you feel. I just don't understand why he doesn't get the recognition he deserves and why he went to the USA at the age of 32. He still had a couple of years in him at the very top. Also that big nose Del Bosque (Spain's manager) took him off in his final game for Spain and Villa started crying. He didn't even comfort him - that was very sad to see. Why did he not leave him on until the end as it was his last ever game? What a twat!!

The Spanish Chelsea Lampard was decent, but Pirlo was god awful. We had reserve players that did better than him unfortunately. He should've gone to the Middle East or somewhere in Asia where he could earn more and play better in a weaker league
