I know what you mean. I love what played on the actual record, Secrets Of The Beehive (especially Boy With The Gun) but I found all his soloing on this tour just irritating and loud. It didn't compliment the mood at all. He's a brilliant guitarist though. The work with Mick Karn is great.

can anyone help me, what would you clarify this style of music as, Im a huge sylvian fan but trying to describe him is impossible, and his differnet styles, would this fall under free jazz? its too heavy for ambient,

I've always thought about this, the thing is just can't categorize Sylvian in any particular genre i think. He is a singer-songwriter/composer who delves into so many different genres and subgenres. But the styles and genres that are most prominent are Jazz, Ambient, Post Prog, Jazzfusion, ArtPop and Avant-garde. Taking The Veil in particular is kind of a meld between Post-Prog, Ambient and Art Pop i'd say. According to Wikipedia, it's Art Rock, which i think is the best possible answer for this particular track.
