One of the things I love about Sylvian is his attitude to music. Left the limelight and did his own thing, producing some beautiful songs over the years. Many of my favourite pop artists from the 80s haven’t produced anything note worthy since their 80s heyday. Sylvian remains a massive inspiration and this song is haunting and melancholic, as many of his songs are. Some won’t like it. Who cares. For us who do like it, then we are lucky to have artists like him around.

Its as if David is going for his own take on the blues within this song... He's always written lyrics that were deep & lf we are being honest & to be fair not exactly one's you could dance to but still an undeniable artist in his own right... Are we going to have to weight until he passes away before he & we the fans get the recognition he & everyone he worked with deserves... There were always connections made to him trying to sound like a mixture of David Bowie meets Brian Ferry, what a load of crock, as he had & used his own vocal style & range & predominantly (again) wasn't about getting you on the dance floor but instead making you think of what is happening within the lyrics of the song as they are telling a story... I've been a fan of his work since " Japan " along with all the separate members that collectively made up the core group of Japan which includes Rob Dean as his contribution must never be forgotten within the realms of that band... But please dont go on about how he treated them within that band & later on with them teaming up again for " Rain Tree Crow " As that was there business & they were grown adults & could've easily told David to shove it anytime they wanted, again thats their story not ours, & i know only too well how hard it is to work within a band with your own flesh & blood, being my older brother, & you just get on with it & take it each session at a time... Am i the only one who felt at times that i wanted to slap David in the face & tell him to stop writing & singing these sorts of songs & write & sing something positive/joyful/upbeat that we could dance to but thats David he stuck to his strengths & its his style & he is not going to change & neither will i as a huge fan of his & even though at times i wish he'd give it a rest with the Joan Of Arc Complex & just ease up on himself but hey that's life & he chose to go his own way & still built up a back catalogue of amazing song's & albums... RIP Mick Karn... As Your Flame Still Burns Brightly RIP David Bowie.... You fought to the end & delivered one of your best album's in year's with " Blackstar " " Both Sadly Gone, But Not Forgotten " .....

David picked up a copy of melody maker naming him “ the most beautiful man” it was a mercurial hard decision to explain to the amazing musicians, Mick , Steve his brother, he just didn’t want the life & Japan disbanded at their beginning of their rise. It’s a real pity, oil on canvas was a masterpiece, so underrated . But David just didn’t want it I guess. The suffering artist as opposed to EMIs next sensation . Personally I would have got my royalties up until 87 then jumped ship. But hey, I’m not the one who had to live up to the hype. I respect David for that, & if he’s reading this which is unlikely , David Assemblage was very good musically . Thankyou

Beautifully put!
Always connects me to myself; my younger self, before life and responsibilities swamped me. Thank you David for taking me right back to myself.
Been listening to Japan since the late 70's early 80's and David's solo work shortly after. I have always been amazed by the way David's voice can make time stop and provoke some deep thoughts and introspective feelings. This should have been the final song of Season 6 of Peaky Blinders. I'm completely blown away !!
"because the Bee may blameless hum, for the Bee do I become, list event unto Me, Because the flowers unafraid, may lift a look on thine , a Maid always a flower would be .. so wings bestow on Me or petals, or Dower of Buzz. That Bee to ride, or Flower of Purze, I that way workship Thee"(E.Dickinson poem 869)
I’m a purist by heart and I refuse anything else. This track moves the ground beneath me
That's how a love song is done right here.
Speechless.
Once in a while David Sylvian pulls off some serious masterpieces. What a complex soul he must be.
He put a torch to his home and warmed his hands by the fire.

beautiful!......follow Japan members since my teens...Great composers and musicians....
A Diamond in the Mind.
At first - the timbral change in his voice threw me! It didn't take very long for it to grow on me, though.
Always sad, always cool as f@ck. Is this dude a musical icon or what? He had a Vision of China 40 years ago.
David always put the finger on our wounds, your music is gonna live with us forever, thanks master
Awesomely Brilliant
Decent! Awesome voice - Japan and Rain Tree Crow were fu@k*ng amazing too, if you ask me.

Genius...
Pure ART
Sylvian's melancholia oozes into that cavity of mine that holds the long-forgotten memories of longing, hurt, hate, emptimess, rejection, love, beauty ..and loss.
poetry to music, it is what it is to the listener

☆☆☆☆☆ What to say. BRILLIANT
Absolutely enjoy David Sylvian's music, his style is instantly recognizable and beautiful. This is no exception, striking all the right notes.
Although still a beauty of a man at 64, David is only human, i think. His health problems are becoming real issues. May all the divinities he talks about in his songs watch over him.

Be careful, it´s a trap. You hear one, maybe two and all of a sudden you are listening to DS full albuns. Don´t like this masterpiece? That´s ok. Stop right here and please go listen to Billie Eilish or Steve Brookstein. You do have good musical taste? Carry on...until 2.30 a.m. like myself. You´ve been warned.

David is not just a singer. David is art, a concept, a way of listening to life, it is everything you want or maybe even everything you hate in music. David is not unique and that's why i don't consider him a genius. But David is above all, special.

Perfect voice and great legendary artist So humble and sophisticad He remember me his duo with Sakamoto Rip
Thankyou
