This. Chris saw through Lorelai's wild antics. He can figure out her volumes of speech which Luke didn't. Luke is lovely but he just grunts mostly. With Chris and Lorelai, you see that there is a whole history inbetween them. There was a scene where Sherry and Chris visits Stars Hollow and Sherry wanted to take Rory shopping and asked Lorelai. Lorelai warned Rory via a telephone call and if Rory agreed on it she had to say Okay Leonardo something. When Sherry and Chris was readying to leave the house, Chris said: I'll see you tonight Leonardo. That was that moment.

So well put. Him and Lorelai are just so in sync when it comes to their banter, their background and chemistry. He gets her quirks and references where it’s a bit lost on Luke. I always wanted them to work out but when she did marry him she was in love with Luke. Luke was a more caring and reliable partner for her.

Sometimes the best partner is someone who balances you out a little. With Chris and Lorelai Lorelai would need to always be the more responsible and mature one and it would have worn off her playful nature in time. Lorelai has had her fair share of independence and being responsible already, with Luke she can just be herself and let him take care of things 💕🦋

I 100% am team Luke but I absolutely did love Christopher, faults and all. The scene where Lorelai and Christopher are sitting on the couch and Lorelai says "You are the man I want to want..." that just gets me EVERY time. So heartbreaking and realistic. Sometimes soul mates don't end up together. I believe Luke was the one for Lorelai, but Christopher was her soul mate.

Lmbo Same 😂 I’m still a Christopher stan. I totally get why he had to be unlikable. The premise of the show was single mom raising her daughter after walking away from her life, but I always felt like him and Lorelai had far better actual chemistry and Lorelai and Luke. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Christopher, for all his flaws, did evolve and become a better person. And it wasn't always his fault. Sometimes it was the circumstance, and sometimes it was even Lorelai contributing to it, like when they slept together when she was with Luke or hastily got married. Also he was big in shaping the development of Rory and Lorelai

Christopher 100% had his faults, but I always loved him. His chemistry was insane with rory and Lorelei. I always thought he was the natural pairing for Lorelei as well. He could keep up with her, he supported her in everything, and when they were together he never made her question his love for her. I don't hate Luke really, but they never felt long term enough I guess. He was in love with her for years, but never would commit. Most importantly he didn't stick up for Lorelei when April came into the picture.

Agree! I was so happy when Lorelei and Chris came together at the end (even though it didn’t last). They go along so well they are very similar and their past and memories connect them so well. I love Luke but I never liked him with Lorelei. He’s too different

The reason it didn’t work out between Chris and Lorelei was that she was still in love with Luke. If there was no Luke she would’ve been with Chris. At least for longer :)

I’ve never seen a mans journey from boyhood into manhood portrayed so accurately than that of Christopher’s character on Gilmore Girls. At the beginning he’s just chasing things that he likes and feel good, without taking into account what his responsibilities are (this is represented by the motorbike). Then he makes the journey into manhood, much to the dismay of Lorelai he makes that journey with another women. He represents so many men who are just that little bit slower to grow up and stop fighting against the system. I loved his character and I enjoyed seeing him in the reboot. He may have not taught his daughter the things he wanted to but her definitely taught he a lot about life.

I loved both Luke AND Christopher. They both had a chemistry with Lorelei on a different level. Both were good to her both had good and bad timing with certain moments in her life, neither were perfect human beings but they sort of just fit with her. I don't know, I had a tough time for a while figuring out who to root for with those two! They were both attractive and could both be sweet and supportive but like most humans neither had it all figured out and messed up sometimes. It made for good TV, both were great possibilities for her and it made it fun to watch to see if she ultimately made a choice.

Rory and I are the exact same age. He just said this show is a classic...which it is. But now I feel old. 😳

It is my belief that Christopher was the one and only true partner for Lorelei. They even tell it to each other on one episode. They will always love each other. I think the problem with Chris is that he never got over the regret and the guilt of not being there for his daughter as she grew up.

Even though in the beginning Chris wasn't my favorite character, by the end of the show I kinda felt bad for him. He wasn't a bad guy. Yes, it took a while for him to get his life together and after inheriting all that money was the push he needed to be able to provide for his daughters... Christopher really loved Lorelei but their love was more of a friendship love. Kinda feels like him not having a big part in the reboot was a bit to harsh but since he was gone most of Rory's life, it makes sense that they went back to their old ways. It's just such a great show and even though I didn't become a big fan until 2005 (their 4th/ 5th season), I'm happy to have had the opportunity to watch the show on TV one episode at a time.

they should do a stars hollow spin off. same charming town, same sweetness, same writers, new characters

I forgot how blue David's eyes are, no wonder "Rory" had blue eyes, with both parents having blue eyes, she didn't stand a chance !!

He is still so hot! I really hate that he and Rory seem to be estranged again in the revival after they became super close in the later seasons...

He really has a smiling face (or eyes?) 😀👍

I think ASP did a great job casting these characters not just based off of their acting skills and personality, but on how a character would look based off of their environment and circumstances of their life. For example: Michel is very clean cut and moves very sharply and clean. Suki is very reckless and fun and Melissa McCarthy can capture her wacky character just by using simple facial expressions. I love especially how Alexis Bledel looks like she could be Lauren Graham and David Stucliffe’s daughter. (Same hair color, complexion, Lauren and Alexis’s eyes, the way they move, etc.)

No Lorelai was right to not go through with the wedding. He was the worst partner for him. He couldn't show up at the hospital when Rory and Lorelai needed him the most.

Chris didnt want to get married he only said it cause thats what both parents wanted. Chris was immature and who was the one who took responsiblity for there action oh yeah Lorelai did. Lorelai is the one who raised Rory without Chris's help.

#teamchristopher always and the netflix eps. just confirmed my worries about luke with lorelai. chris and lorelai had great chemistry and communication; it was even interesting to watch them fight. Their temperament, shared interests and transparency w/each other made them the better match and would have pushed each other to grow (even if i loved luke and he's objectively speaking the better man)

Chris was a flake Lorelai could bever rely on hin and he couldn't even be there for Lorelai and Rory when they needsd him thd most. Luke dropped everything to make sure Lorelai and Rory needed anything when Richard was in ths hospital. Where was Chris at.

@@lauriecarson6483 thats exactly why i said i love luke and he's objectively the better man. However Lorelai is not a prize to be had by the man w the longest laundry list of quality's, she should be with whomever is the better fit to her own personality, as an equally flawed, quirky character; Luke acts often as her enabler, by doing everything she wants. Chris grew out of being a flake; by the end of the show he had been a single parent himself for a time and stepped up to support Rory and unburden Lorelai and be a good partner; whereas Luke and Lorelai still had the same communication issues in the revival, with the same passive aggressive coping mechanisms and somewhat arrested development in their life plans (e.g. feeling unfulfilled, having off-limit topics as if they still had separate lives and not having "decided" whether they wanted kids in their late 40's)

Christopher and Lorelei should have ended up together. Luke was such a grump.

He hasn't aged a day since Gilmore Girls.

lorelie and luke seemed like brother and sister relationship.. chris and lorelai were the best. they had that deep romance.

no Chris and Lorelai wanst the best. Chris couldn't be there for Lorelai when she needed him the most. Luke dropped everything and went to check on Lorelai and Rory. Chris couldn't be bothered.

They may have chemiatry but thats all they had. Chris lived in the past and never really understood Lorelai. He wasnt very reliable either. Luke kept Lorelai grounded and understood her more.

Chris was so hot! Personally, not digging the beard. But he’s still handsome, I wouldn’t kick him out of bed.

does he have a 'dorian gray' portrait in his attic? why is he the only one not aging? :)

I always thought he suited Lorelei the best

Luke was hest for her. Chris wasn't strong enough. However, I don't feel Lorelai was good enough for Luke. He was extra special and deserved someone less selfish.

@@Estelle738l I thought Luke was a huge stick in the mud and a total curmudgeon. Then, he totally lied to Lorelai about April. Just my opinion about a bunch of fictional characters.

Luke was until they messed his character up by lying to her about April and then postponing the wedding. Seemed totally out of character for a man that waited and waited for her

i always wanted chris and lor to end up together. I just dont think Luke was that great he always had double standards with lorelai on why he would get mad at her but also keep secrets but god forbid lorelai get mad at luke for being mad or irrational or secrative. I think its just because Chris and Lorelai had such great chemistry it felt too real that they needed to be together

frankly they all had their flaws. luke was a good guy so was chris. but what if she married max? r stayed w/ jason? or that guy from her business classes who was young? why did her and luke wait so long to tie the knot?
