I really want to cry, I grew up watching Starsky and Hutch, and I haven't forgotten Salem's Lot, an irreparable loss for those of us who are over 50.RIP David,from Argentina 😢

David Soul was truly one of a kind. Low key, easy going and a remarkable talent. I had the pleasure of running into him in a restaurant in Studio City, when I worked in Los Angeles as an actor/ screenwriter and he was a joy to behold. A kind and genuine individual.. RIP, David..

I am deerply saddened by the news. David Soul wasn't just a star but a icon because of such a revolutionary series.He was a part of a lot of our childhoods while on television. Starsky and Hutch was really big while on the air and thankfully he and Paul Michael Glaser went on to star in many television movies and motion pictures after the show went off the air. I only hope that he knew that he was beloved, and still is so he can finally RIP. Thank you for the memories.

Seriously sad to hear this news. The tv series was a big part of my growing up in the 70’s and his songs were great. Even today his songs invoke so many memories in me. So so sad to hear this news

David Soul R.I.P an Honorary English man at Heart even if has an American passport having lived here for at least 30 years he's had British citizenship for at least 20 and a regular at the Emirates as an Arsenal fan.

Bless him....I am an old git and followed Starsky and Hutch and even wore Paul Michael Glaser's iconic knitted cardigan and knitted hat (it was fashionable then, honest!), 80 is a good age and just lately I have read about a lot of stars from my youth that have passed away and here is another and I am not that far off their age. It does remind you of your own mortality. RIP Mr David Soul and thanks for the memories.

I had the privilege to meet David Soul twice in 2001 when he was campaigning for Martin Bell. He came across as a humble, honest, decent guy. I did see him with a hangover one Saturday morning. I also got to meet 'Huggy Bear.' I remember Starsky and Hutch. RIP David Soul.
