    The logic escapes me of so many of these arguments. If you say “there’s a good chance a 2nd round pick would be cut anyway”. Well if you’re second round pick can’t help you win in the foreseeable future you DO cut them, then you have a free roster spot to take a flyer on a free agent or an up and coming g league guy. You don’t have the luxury with bronny. He’s uncuttable and unplayable.

    "Well if you’re second round pick can’t help you win in the foreseeable future you DO cut them, then you have a free roster spot to take a flyer on a free agent or an up and coming g league guy." that would usually be down the line. not everything happens in one year. like it's extremely simple. bronny isn't the only person that isn't a starter that is on a contract. he's one of many on the team. "You don’t have the luxury with bronny" you do have that luxury with bronny. you have that luxury with every player outside of AD and Bron. no it wouldn't be this year. I highly doubt that in the history of the league giving deals to 2nd round picks that they've been cut the year they got drafted. I just don't think that happens. after 2 years bronny will for sure be on the clock. "He’s uncuttable and unplayable" he's not uncuttable. he probably won't be unplayable at the start of next year or end of next year

    Dominque is right David Samson is compromised. With all hes done Samson's selective criticism is nasty work and shows how hypocritical he is. He is obviously has a bias. Bronny's deal is not a new deal to the NBA or other sport franchises teams. Teams have given similar deals to players that were liked because of their connection to a school or their friendships.Multiple GMs has already confirmed this occurs. Giannis and his brothers, Knicks adding JR Smith little brother to the roster to get JR to leave China and sign with them etc. People just want to find a excuse to hate Lebron. Dodgers constructed Shoehei OTANI's contract where he is only taxed on $2m every year for the next 10 years and the remaining 680m will not be taxed by the American tax system when leaves to team and then decide move to a different country non of the talking heads criticized the Dodgers or OTHANI for constructing the deal in that manner.

    No he didn't. Basically he drew a line and said if you continue down this line of argument, I'm gonna call you a racist. And David said OK fine let's move on. There's a difference between finding a loophole to do something versus circumventing the rule. The salary cap is there for teams to compete equally. Other players have had to abide by the salary cap. If we're talking about fair market value then KD, Steph have all played in years where they should have gotten more. The Warriors alone brought a ridiculous amount of revenue growth to the league during the Steph years. Yet Steph had to abide by the cap. Btw LeBron and the players union could have fought for a higher max contract, but they would have given up the high average and minimum salaries. In order for the league to be successful, they had to compensate the lower tier players properly too, then it's a win-win and the league can grow. So you can argue LeBron already benefited from the cap the way it is. The problem with nepotism is that there are a lot of people who don't benefit from it, and you can't throw it in their face. If you celebrate it now then don't be upset when it doesn't go in your favor in the future.

    LeBron played 7D paternal chess by joining the Lakers in 2018: Even then, he realized Bronny didn’t have what it takes to make the NBA on his own merits. But who in Lakers Land dare pushes back on LeBron’s demands for nepotism when you’re a basketball team owned (amateurishly) by Jerry Buss’s daughter; managed (poorly) by Kobe Bryant’s agent, after it was run into the ground by Jerry Buss’s (even-less-competent) son; and has secretly been controlled by Kurt Rambis’s wife this whole time?

    From a data science perspective, Bronny James' college stats, reflected in his preseason game performance of 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 20 minutes, suggest he may struggle initially in the NBA. Using Player Efficiency Rating (PER), which combines various aspects of a player's performance into a single metric, we see that Bronny's college PER is likely below the threshold for immediate NBA impact. Regression analysis also indicates that higher college PER correlates with NBA success, meaning players who dominate in college typically transition better. Bronny's current stats suggest he needs more development to reach the performance level required for NBA success.

    @@user-xt3vu4jv1o The problem using this approach is that Bronny Jr is a special case. Few of those other players in the data set have LeBron's backing or support. So Bronny Jr has time to develop and the financial and managerial support to maximize his potential. Those other players didn't have that behind them. It doesn't guarantee Bronny Jr will be a successful starter in the NBA at any point in his career, but it does mean that your data set isn't predictive in this situation.

  • @user-xt3vu4jv1o

    @user-xt3vu4jv1o

    @@KK-pm7ud Bronny James benefits from unique support and mentorship from LeBron, relying solely on these factors may not fully address the challenges he faces. Here are several points to consider. I'll also address your comment "your data set isn't predictive in this situation." 1. Objective Metrics: Player Efficiency Rating (PER) and other statistical metrics provide objective insights into a player's performance. While Bronny’s support system is indeed exceptional, it doesn't change the fact that his current stats indicate he needs more development to reach NBA impact levels. These metrics have consistently shown that players with higher college PER tend to succeed more readily in the NBA. 2. Development and Competition: The NBA is a highly competitive environment where raw talent and potential alone aren't enough. Players must consistently perform at high levels against the best in the world. Even with LeBron's backing, Bronny will need to demonstrate significant improvement to compete effectively. 3. Historical Precedents: There have been other players with strong support systems who still struggled in the NBA. While Bronny's situation is unique, history shows that having a mentor, even one as influential as LeBron, doesn't always translate to immediate success on the court. 4. Adaptation Period: Bronny’s stats suggest he may require an adaptation period longer than other top prospects. This is not unusual, but it highlights the importance of patience and realistic expectations. His development will likely be a gradual process, with his early performance potentially less impactful than some may hope. 5. Holistic Development: While financial and managerial support can aid in Bronny’s development, it is his on-court performance that will ultimately determine his success. Continuous improvement, training, and adaptation to the professional level are critical, and these factors are reflected in the statistical analyses used. 6. Predictive Validity of the Dataset: The assertion that the dataset isn't predictive in this situation overlooks the value of empirical data. Statistical analyses like PER and regression analysis are designed to identify patterns and predict outcomes based on historical data. While Bronny's unique circumstances are a factor, they do not invalidate the predictive power of these metrics. The dataset provides a robust framework for understanding potential performance trends, even if individual cases may have unique variables. Bronny’s unique support system is a significant advantage, it doesn't negate the insights provided by data science. Objective performance metrics are crucial for evaluating potential and guiding development. Bronny will benefit from his circumstances, but he will still need to meet the rigorous demands of NBA competition to succeed.

    It's not like Lebron created a fake child to sign to an NBA contract. He took less so they could sign his son and he could be on the same team. There isn't even an IRS issue here even though Bronny Jr will pay less taxes than Lebron on an incremental basis. It was just a logical approach for the Lakers to sign LeBron's son. The Lakers will probably sell more tickets and get more revenue just because Lebron is playing with his son for several seasons with the Lakers.

I find it pretty annoying that fans don't understand how the "game" works. @@thetrib1 Yes, he’s 19, not 12 🙄🤡 Would you want to live with your parents and give them all your money at 19 in Los Angeles with your own money and the LA night life?? I don’t think so. Kobe had to sign his first Lakers contract twice in the summer of ‘96 because when he first got traded post draft he was 17 and needed his parent’s signature, but he turned 18 before the season started and wanted to get a new contract with just his name because he was now old enough to sign contracts exclusively. And no Kobe didn’t just give money to his parents. He bought them a modest home and kept the rest of the money. It was a huge point of contention. His parents thought he should’ve splurged on a massive home for them so they kept a lot of the memorabilia from his lead up to his Career and some of the things he stored in his old bedroom over the first championship run and sold the stuff behind his back. There was a whole court case over it that Kobe won. The point is that at the stroke of midnight of his 18th year, he was immediately and totally in charge of all of his own money. The exact same was true of Bronny AT USC last year. He’s had full control and ownership of his own money for over a year. This loser on the talk show needs to be put in his place. He needs to be sued and he needs to be charged with harassment. Those are serious allegations and he has no evidence …he needs to be held accountable. I’m sick and tired of these racist pricks.
