It's really a shame a large number of people only see him as that guy with John Mayer. His talent is too great to be relegated to that.

If I'm allowed to brag, I discovered DRH through his short-lived band Brand New Immortals, and I genuinely had no idea of his collaboration with John Mayer.

I had the honor to see him singing the intro for Slow Dancing live, and I'm glad it took JM a long time to come back to Brazil, so I could see them both together with Steve and Pino. What an experience!
WOW! DUDE! BRO!
The “Atlanta” EP is one of the best albums I’ve ever listened to. Over 15 years later, I still love it! Such an inspiration for musicians
"I'm going to be in service to the song". Excellent excellent!!!!
I saw David play with JM a few months ago in London, very talented guy. Also very cool that JM fills his band with guitarists who are on his level (David + Isaiah Sharkey)!

See. All about relationships baby. Absolutely powerful.
Love this guy great musician, guitarist, singer!
i saw him and john in washington dc last month and his voice blew me away !!!!! incredible
Amazing interview. Love this guy! And really dig the interviewer vibe.
The Dion a Ferris album was epic. David made that album so dope!
The Bittersweet was a great album. Would love to see an interview with Chad Franscoviak. Mayer has always surrounded himself with great people!

The Bittersweet pretty much changed my life (at least musically). It's still maybe my favorite album of all time.
DRH, what a great soul! I dig this dude. He seems so genuine. great interview.
I always loved him as part of the band, but I got to see him live performing his own songs on Rio and it was amazing, one of the best nights of my life. His voice is so amazing. I love him ♥
I'd pay serious money to see Follow For Now again! I saw them about half a dozen times back in the early 1990's and they put on a mind blowing show!

Came to share the love for Follow For Now. One of my favorite bands from that Atlanta scene. That dope run he David does on Misfortune. " Have you ever se-ee-ee-ee-een a gir rr rr rrl!" in my brain almost 30 years later. Where you at Enrique, miss you man!
DRH is an awesome singer-songwriter period.
I just met him this weekend. He is a good guy. I'd totally see him again. His opening act, Justin Kawika Young, was also great. And I met his fiancee, who happens to be the one and only Colbie Caillat!
That's awsome man.
I'm not a fan of how the interviewer didn't mention DRH's solo work in the beginning, only the other artists he's worked with. This man has done some great work *besides* the stuff he's done with other artists. Acknowledge that.
I saw then with Follow For Now in like 91 or something... they fucking KILLED IT, and I've been a fan ever since!
I am one of the 10,000 who have the record. I got it as a promo from a friend who used to work at a record store. Great album and very underappreciated.
i just discovered him yesterday. i love his voice. why is he not a superstar by now. everyone should be listening to him.

Far out DRH is humble, he's accomplished his philosophy cause that's the sort of dude I'd want in the room
The song he talks about with India.Arie is called “Life I Know” of her 2013 album “SongVersation” and it is absolutely beautiful go and check it out.

I think Mayer sounds like him. I’m not I diehard fan of JM or David so my information is very scant but the first thing I realised was how John sounds like him. A lot of thought put into the words he says.

This guy went to my high school. 20 years before I went. Now I see where all the hype over John Mayer came from. No doubt this guy has influenced John, and honestly, John is good. Great even. But this guy lives that acid jimi rock blues groove vibe life! Having listened to Mayer for years and only now discovered him, I feel like this guys got to be Mayers influence. I also feel on some level he was ripped off. He is that Mayer vibe, the Mayer vibe was ripped off of him. He definitely doesn't get the clout he deserves
@aconfusedshoe6240

John Mayer never ripped him off. They did shows together before they both blew up and had the same influences growing up. John was a bluesman from the start but eventually chose to do his own thing (pop blues/ soft rock blues). John although being influenced by a lot of blues guy, never ripped anybody off if you think about it. He just chose to create his own unique finger print in music where as this guy stayed to his bluesy roots. Simple.
Anyone know the song he did with India Arie that he's talking about around the 5 min mark?

Is it just me or am I missing something but this guy asking the questions is “trying” too hard with the whole bro thing. Relax man.
It's a real shame that David Ryan Harris is unknown outside of the US. If you ask me he's probably America's best kept secret. I've yet to hear anything from him I don't like.
