The way that this pokes fun at the trope amongst punks and anarchists of attempting to out others as "posers" is hilarious. Its a great analysis of the superficiality of the subculture, and how one can perceive oneself as objectively"better" than someone else when they believe in a political system that promotes complete equality

Glad to hear you liked it that much! It was a lot of fun to make too ;)

And that's the point of the song; you'll always find someone who thinks he/she is so much better than everybody else, that their actions end up way out of proportion or off track of what's important. ;) The song itself is inspired by several "anarchists" David has met through the years who were kind'a like this and did more harm to the cause then good. So there's a valuable lesson in all the humor :)

I laugh at the song self-satyrically. At various points, I've done almost all of that stuff.

It's just a little kick on the leg to all those out there who think they are so much more "activist" than the others - making fun of those few who just falls over to the over-the-top-fanatical - more Catholic then the Pope you could say. ;)

Anarchy does not have a government. Government is inherent in a monopolising business, which is the consequence of a free economy. There is nothing anarchic about capitalism.

David Rovics played live in Brisbane at Absoe House in West End last Thursday night, and it was the first time I saw him. He was brilliant and this was the song I liked the most. I am working on a naturist band in Brisbane called Laissez-Fayre, and wrote a pastiche of this song called "I'm A Better Naturist Than You" as to how some people call themselves naturists but into consumerism and unhealthy eating. Check out my vids for "Nekkid", "Botoxic" and "Stop Segregation" on my channel. :)

PPG and Cartoon Network came so late to Norway that I wasn't quite in the demographic when it was first available, but afterwards learned to enjoy some of the details and humor in the show

David told under a concert it was inspired by experience with a environmentalist group who ended up not being able to get anything done since they had a very small holier-than-thou minority who always protested and sabotaged the groups efforts to protest. So even among activists there's a need for a bit of pragmatism 😉

I wouldn't call relationships unequal. I think someone having complete control over your personal and private life is better described as Authoritarian or tyrannical. Not just unequal.
