David once told me after a concert that this is one of the most difficult songs to do because it stays so high for so long. His breath control is amazing and his tone, clear as a bell from the lowest to the highest note. The man is a freak of nature! (in a very good way) But for me, the most touching part of this song is the genuine plea heard in his voice as a prayer to God to meet you just where you are in life, whatever your circumstances.

I have been in the front row several times when he starts a live concert with this song....really shows off his unbelievable power and range in his voice. And the tone in his voice is just unmatched. Best male vocalist in the world.

Just watched this again....there is only one person in the world who can sing this song with such passion, power and conviction....and his name is David Phelps.

David just blessed my soul with his presentation of Just as I am. I could feel his Spirit all over me ! Praise God!.

It's almost as if David is singing a prayer from his soul here. Great reaction, Lyle! This is my favorite of all the songs David sings. He uses his crescendo and decrescendo so well here. LOVE the glissando toward the end. I find myself holding my breath to hear his next note! Thank you for reacting to this glorious song by the best living tenor today!

This has always been one of my tip top favorite songs that David does, and I love it for 2 reasons. First, it's one of the ones I feel where he displays his emotions the most, from the tiniest nuance in his face to his entire body language. And secondly, having played trumpet throughout college, I absolutely adore the shininess, the brilliance of brass. And David's upper register has that same quality to me--I LIVE for the top of that slide. I have to tell you, Lyle, that I've waiting and recommending this one to you on and off for an entire year. And ya know what?!? IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT!!! Thank you, so very, very much. (Oh--and people went home with cold feet that night because David blew their socks off. I know--I was there!! :D )

Yes. The brass sound of that upper register. It's unparalleled. Unbelievable resonance, range, power, and of course, the lyrics. Great reaction, as always, sir.

I’ve loved David for years, seen him in concert...David believes what he sings, thus David sings a sermon ! As a vocal coach, the way David is able to go from a rich baritone to a high tenor without breaks in his 4-octave range is truly an anointed voice...the flawless slide brings chills down my spine...

This was the first song I ever heard of Davids about 10 years ago and I could not believe what happened. David is truely BLESSED and he is my favourite male singer. Yes other singers have great voices but they cant give the message as David can.

He is one of my favorites, he can bring me to tears and the other is Guy Penrod. They are both Gods people.

Our preacher played a few during service on various occasions, Let Freedom Ring and End Of The Beginning but I had never taken the time to listen to more. The lockdown happened and I went in search of church music on KZread. Eventually it lead me to more GVB the David Phelps solo. I am so thankful finding his music and ministry. It has been a blessing to me since last March. Thank you for sharing your heartfelt reactions with us all. Please don’t stop anytime soon.

Watching this early am 5th of July 2021. I'm almost speechless. This ripped my heart out and gave it back to me whole!

You know and love David and how he reinterprets classic songs, like Just As I Am when he re-writes and re-arranges them. Try Angel Band. He didn't re-write it, but completely re-interprets it since he saw it as a "Movie script". Phenomenal. It's on Classic, the album you already love.
