Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

David Pearce is a leading transhumanist thinker, co-founder of the World Tranhumanist Association, and founder of the Abolition Project, which seeks to abolish suffering in all sentient beings...! 16:00 I agree that not telling people their babies should be strangled at birth is a good position to adopt. Also not believing it.

Ego's seeking anything outside oneself is by it's very nature an illusion. No idea that thought and thinking IS the cause of suffering.

If you were to stumble across another human - or nonhuman animal - in distress, then would you pass on by with the philosophical thought that seeking anything beyond oneself is an illusion? Or try to help? The biohappiness revolution that (some) transhumanists anticipate just expands such limited ad hoc benevolence to the rest of the animal kingdom.

@@DavidPearce1 using thinking would you not decide to help based on your memory/experience, knowledge , beliefs, bias concious and unconscious all running through a predictive brain carrying out a cost/benefit analysis blah blah, Or just help spontaneously! Interesting question thanx!

@@benhudson4014, indeed. But recall the origin of suffering is Precambrian - long before the existence of anything resembling thought-episodes.

@@DavidPearce1 are you referring to physical suffering? If so yes agree! I wasn't around pre-canbrian, so I don't know! Personally all my suffering was caused by mind/thoughts as it's experience and knowledge is past memory and future predictions. The past you speak of was it our reptilian brain running the show?

I recommend reading David Sloan Wilson's "This View of Life", where he expounds on innovation and creativity as being as much (actually, even more) a function of group cooperation and selection as they are the products of individual flourishes of brilliance.
