David is something else. But its the sum of all parts that make Toto what Toto is. Through the tragic loss of two amazing musicians the managed to continue making incredible music, and it was all because they are equally talented and incredible and there's no ego.

It is great to see him playing again. I went to Chaminade College Prep with David. I found him to be very personable and easy to perform with. In 1972 before we graduated he was already doing work for various artists. When we were coming close to graduation he took it upon himself to produce a senior concert with the best musicians and vocalists he could find in the graduating class. I was fortunate that he asked me to sing a song.. So I sang CYSN's "Long Time Gone" and he was kind enough to play backing piano for me. To this day I am thankful I performed with him. I have heard that he got the idea for 'Africa' after speaking with one of the priests at the school. about what Africa was like doing missionary work. I'm guessing that was one of our class members who had become a priest.
