Since it appears Inland Empire will be his last feature length film, its always bugged me that it wasn't Mulholland Drive. That would have been a perfect swan song ending.

INLAND EMPIRE is difficult but I admire it, particularly for Laura Dern's fully committed performance. My favorite is BLUE VELVET but MULHOLLAND DRIVE is still the best cinematic experience I've ever had. I went to see it blind with no trailer and it blew me away. I'll never forget when it opened with that crazy jitterbug scene and the dancers shadows looked like they were eating them on that huge movie screen, it was just awesome from start to finish. It's a movie I like to preserve so I only want to watch it every 10 years or so. I can watch Blue Velvet anytime. It's awesome that Wild at Heart won the Palm d'Or, lol.

@excelsiormoviereviews hoping they'll re-release Mulholland Drive like they did Blue Velvet theatrically at some point, the movie has a lot of fans now but they don't even know how incredible it really is (sound design, images) until they see it in a cinema

You were right, "Wicked Game" was a flop at first release in 1989 but then was rereleased as a new single/video after Wild at Heart and became super popular in 1991. Probably why Chris Isaak acted in Fire Walk with Me the following year. Didn't know if you were aware but Julee Cruise killed herself last year. The singer from Twin Peaks theme and many of the songs from the series and Blue Velvet. Sad. Love your channel man!

Yes, Inland Empire is beloved by contrarians everywhere. 😂 I think putting Dune where I did was bold and The Straight Story is one of the most charming films I’ve seen in a while and quite different from anything Lynch has ever done.

Inland Empire was a very strange experimental movie shot on Sony PD-1, back when they were new. It was good for sure, and I think 8 is a good spot for it. I consider the new Twin Peaks series a movie, and for me it is. All of his work is #1 for me. #1 Twin Peaks The Return (widely considered to be a long movie) #1 Mullholland Drive #1 Blue Velvet #1 Eraserhead #1 Fire Walk With Me #1 Inland Empire #1 Rabbits #1 Wild at Heart #1 Dune #1 Twin Peaks
