I just recently discovered a way around focal dystonia after 33 years of not being able to play banjo at all. FD is a major curse to musicians! now I have 343 years of practice to make up. all the best to you and anyone that has been struck down by this curse!

I got focal Dystonia 4 years ago it's getting better but it's taken years to get better. It's still not 100 percent but I would say it's about 60 percent better.

@@TransformsIntoAGuitar this is for you people to read up. It is the most revolutionary approach to pain/dysfunction I have stumbled upon. From what I have understood, the nervous system is constantly receiving information via various types of receptos. P-DTR is focused on identifying the dysfunctionsl receptor and "resetting" it. The problematic movement pattern will stop being problematic. It is unbelievable. I have experienced this.

Other career paths are likely to be easier than music! But maybe you can recover, or maybe you could form a duet with someone that has right hand dystonia and you play one guitar together. Please don't think I'm mocking your terrible problem, though.
