I love that Dave is the type of guy who would do that, regardless if the reaction of the kid was a non-reaction. Don't get me wrong I love ALL of Van Halen, but Van Galen isn't squat without DLR. David Lee Roth made Van Halen famous with vocals nobody had ever heard before. THEN people noticed Eddie' guitar playing. DLR even named the band,always promoted Eddie, fronted the band, provided the energy etc. Fun Fact- the song "Eruption" is a series of guitar riffs or noodling that the STUDIO put together for the debut album. Then Eddie had to learn the song in it's released form. He had the riffs yeah but studio engineers "created" it for Eddie to become famous for. DLR carried Van Halen until they could make it on there own. Sorry that's just how it happened. The proof is that nobody wants to see Van Halen in concert without David Lee Roth in the band. And the Van Halen are way fully aware of it. Just sayin'.

DLR tried to incorporate dance music (synth bass, drum machines) into “Skyscraper”. It’s why Billy Sheehan quit. So Dave has been into it for a while.

I love DLR so much!! I liked him the first time I ever saw him, smiling in the Jump video. He became my Hero. And he has NEVER let me down. He is STILL awesome! Still leading a life of Adventure. Thank you Dave. You have been my Inspiration!

Its completely normal. When I was around their age in the early 90s I wouldn`t be able to recognize many older rock stars from the 60/70s either.
