David Lash is a full-time horse logger who uses three Belgian draft horses to haul timber from the woods in central Michigan.

David skids poplar logs from a hillside using three abreast Belgian horses and a logging arch. He explains how he got started logging with horses in Missouri before moving to Michigan and shows us some of the equipment he uses in the woods.

    My father and I used a pony Sally to pull our fire wood. Our farm was in Southern wv . She was good at pulling out 3 or 4 deer on opening day to .like your show, ya'll take care

    Y he makes money he has his own truck and he has 3 horse strong as. Small skider dosent reck the land and dosent have a crazzy fuel bill and saves on parts and tires

    I remember as a kid we used to swim at the rollaway's off Lucas road, near Fife Lake. Guess they rolled the logs down the river for transport.
