David Goggins: How I Went From 300 Pounds To Becoming A Navy SEAL

Ойын-сауық

Before David Goggins decided he wanted to join the Navy SEALs, he weighed 297 pounds, worked nights as an exterminator and routinely ate "a box of mini donuts and a chocolate milkshake."

This is why some people that chased a very unlikely dream became successful. They already hit rock bottom and weren't afraid of it anymore. So they pursued their dream not being afraid of losing what they have (such as most people who have a full-time job and are afraid to lose the security so they might not open up their own business). They've already been there so they aren't afraid of going back. Only way from there was up.

John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. --

I water fasted a week and lost 15lb - probably mostly water weight but still felt enlightening and made me realize how much emotion is connected to my eating and drinking - a realization that the same emotion needs to be tapped into exercise and other healthy activities besides eating. Hardest part was going to sleep sometimes - my mind thinking "is this fast ok, is this ok? didn't eat, are you ok." Comfort is not happiness, happiness requires discomfort, growth, adventure, merit, legacy to tell. Goggin's has a legacy of the human spirit - how much we can change now The food must be the fuel, the happiness must be the lifestyle

Nice to see people find inspiration, you sure can't force it. I've lost weight, but I don't have anyone calling me an inspiration. I'm not btw, I did it solely for myself. But if someone I knew used my experience to better themselves, it would be one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. Good health is worth everything and lately most people throw it away. Goggins changed my life; reading his book and listening more and more of him from the Joe Rogan show, podcasts etc. Since I finished his book in December, my life has been altered for the better. Working out is no longer a chore, but a way to institute discipline in my life for the better. Going through the accountability mirror and other exercises from the book, I’ve been able to fight timidity and other loser energy. Thanks for everything David, I hope you know there are many out there that are grateful for you sharing your story. GET AFTER IT

All I can say at this point is that meeting Rodger Michael Karl transformed my life. He has assisted us in paying off our debt and saving for the future. I made almost $220,000 during this downturn, demonstrating that there is more to the market than the typical person is aware of. The best course of action right now is to work with an investing advisor, especially if you're in danger of losing money.

I honestly let myself go, I blame myself for it nobody else. 1 month ago I got tired of the way my life was going, walk into a recruiter office for the Army told him I wanted to enlist. I passed the test, went to MEPS. Currently going to ship to Ft. Benning, GA on September 16, 11Bravo. It takes true courage to step up & call yourself out on the BS you've been doing. Its not going to be easy, it will be a challenge but I'm up for the unknown.

I gout out of the Army and within 5 years, I gained 40 lbs (240 lbs). Later on, when my (wife's) daughter died, I got depressed and within a month, I gained additional 40 lbs (280 lbs). It took me 4 years to get back to 215 lbs (lost 65 lbs) slowly through small changes over long periods of time and changing how frequently I ate certain foods (which sometime painlessly lead to elimination). I started easing back into exercise routine. I did it slowly. Remember: on The Biggest Loser, they have cardiologists and other doctors standing around, they are not standing around you! Take it easy at 1st! I started by walking 10 minutes and lifting light weights. Later, I extended it to 35 minutes. Later yet, I started adding running intervals and heavier weights. Eventually, I started doing chin ups , real runs, and heavier weights. I am still a work in progress. I am still 6 months away from Army's infantry shape.

He embraced the fight--plain and simple. As I tell my own subscribers. The hard times can make you stronger but only if you allow yourself to absorb the lessons learned and the tenacity it took to get through them. Because if you don't, tough times can bury you as well. If you give up with every road block then it will become the pattern for your life. If you develop a fighting mentality however, no matter what, then not only will the tough times be less in duration but when the times aren't hard you will advance even more so. The problem is we live in a generation of coddle now. We are telling them tough times should fall on society to get you through. And that will set someone up for an unfulfilled life. But if you keep your sword razor sharp, you will find that you will be prepared to use it quickly and won't even have to draw it nearly as much. Hope this helps someone out there---Charles

I have three herniated discs and my left knee screams at me. I broke my finger at crossfit three weeks ago and needed surgery. I can't deadlift anymore or my back goes out and I drop to the floor in really bad pain and am out for 4-5 days. Be careful training as it is easy to overdo it if your mind is built to overdo things. But also healthy bread, fish, cheese, meat. Don forget to drink 2-3L Water, tea ect (no added sugar) Sweets are useless, so eat them really rarely, but don't forget to eat your favourite Fast food from time to time, because you want to change your life for the better and not get sad, because you only ate super healthy food.
