the reason lucy retired from the team was not because she could not shake what she saw about david's past but beacuse she was ocupied netrunning hiding david's information from arasaka(that was chasing him) and also killing netrunners that could possibly get that information. In summary she was trying to protect David withought david knowing

Edgerunners is canon, but it could very well become an anthology series, like Animatrix. They’re all connected but separate and unique stories.

That would be the perfect way to continue the show if it had to. Any of the past characters surviving would ruin the entire message of the show. But a bunch of stories like the one we got would be sick.

There's a theory that Cyberpunk edgerunners is just a first of a three part series adapting thee three routes of life a player can choose in cyberpunk 2077. This one appears to follow a streekid

EdgeRunners is cannon. There is a mission in 2077 where you investigate basically the events of this anime. In fact that's the mission that leaked this anime with a trailer. The anime is suppose to be like a year before the events of the game

I can honestly see David "surviving" but in the sense that Adam Smasher is "alive". Full conversion, Arasaka or Militech retrieves David's corpse for experiments. Why would they bother? To make an Adam Smasher 2.0 Enough of his cranium is damaged/gone that he doesn't/wouldn't know he was David, maybe brief flashes of his mother, of Lucy and the crew. Ultimately, it might be more tragic, a ghost in the machine.

his entire body was decimated. there is zero chance he comes back in any way.

While I doubt we'll get a second season, if we do I think it'll either be A, continuing where Lucy or Falco left off as they were the only ones left alive that knew David and the gang, or B, the one I think is more likely, we'll follow a different set of characters and see how they turned out in Night City.

In the lore Johnny Silverhand was a rockerboy who incited a riot to attack Arisaka. In retalliation Arisaka "soulkilled" johnny silverhand, copying his mind into their large compute cluster while frying his brain. When Lucy is on the moon, in her grief she sees David as he was on their first date right? And then he blinks away like a hallucination, underscoring how alone Lucy is in the world. Remember just before Adam Smasher shot David in the face, he offered to make David into a construct? And David told Adam Smasher to fuck off? Since when does Adam Smasher do anything you tell him to lol? He could have soulkilled david first, and then shot him in the head to cover up the evidence. Lucy's got an arisaka deep dive port in her skull and Arisaka Counterintel loves mind games. So one way Arisaka could try to get to Lucy is with David's construct which would gaslight her into thinking she's getting cyberpsychosis. David, being newly dead woudn't understand his situation in my proposed sequel, and he wouldn't understand that he is hurting her. And since this series comprehensively fails the bechdel test, and it is all about david's story, it would be good character development to take a Brawler like David and find out who he is when he is incorporeal. So yea that's my Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 pitch

So on the night that the news shows Arisaka tower burning, our heroes of season 2 are on the moon fighting for their lives.

When Netflix actually trys and care , They can make top tier animes. This is one of them

When he started to go full machine like, I knew his fate would go for an unfortunate route.

Absolutely fantastic. Binged it twice in a row then started a new playthrough in Cyberpunk 2077. Good times.

Loved the anime

If Lucy had just told David about the tail Arasaka had on him, things would've ended differently. But the two of them are broken, David trying to save Lucy and Lucy trying to protect David. If she'd have told him, judging by his personality he would've gone scorched earth as we all know. Lucy didn't want that because it'd end in his death, with either Arasaka or Militech sending everything to take him out or control him. Poetically, they were made for each other but with the outside conflicts that could never come to be. Sort of like a futuristic Romeo and Juliet, except their 'families' are two corporate factions; Arasaka and Militech. This anime was written incredibly well, and the production team went beyond in their visuals. I seriously hope there's a season two, since most of the characters parished or moved on (Lucy and Falco) I assume it'll be like an anthology series where it's a different story and cast each season.

I always thought this show was more grim than the game. And I don't care what anyone says, I liked Cyberpunk 2077!

If we get Edgerunners season 2, I hope its Morgan Blackhand's story. It could be a amazing prequel with a proper set up for Future DLC or Sequel for Cyberpunk.

I want each season of this show to be like the backstory behind people who have drinks at the afterlife

This has to be the greatest idea, so many stories could be told with so many interesting characters the possibilities are endless

I watched the whole show in one night and caught myself into playing Cyberpunk 30 hours for the next 3 days....the game just hit as hard as the anime tbh

i love cyberpunk edgerunners its such a amazing anime and tons of fun.

I took a shit load of mushrooms and binge watched this entire series. What a rush.

10/10 Anime loved the Adam Smasher Cameo

This show was so good for no reason

if they want to make a sequel, they must take a route similar to JoJo where every season/part has a different protagonist

silverhand got a bullet in the head and still became a construct afterwards, V gets a bullet in the head and survives (thanks to the biochip though). Why wouldn't david possibly be alive (as a construct)?

Being a contruct is not exactly alive. Arasaka love to use Soul Killer on corpses for intel, and they did that to Jackie...... pretty much an AI disguises as Jackie. Silverhand didn't get killed, so his construct is complete and human-like. David though, got his head blown off (judging by the animation), no brain left to use Soul Killer on.

I loved how they used Frank Fernandinho as the main theme instead of something like drum and base

See i love how Lucy kicked David out of cyber phycosis he got to die with his full consciousness and got to have a final fuck you moment to Adam smasher/arasaka. Beautiful anime

Loved everything about the anime.

I'm not against the idea of there being no season 2, I'm fine with that. Edgerunners was being produced along side CP2077's development. I don't think everything needs more seasons, sometimes its okay for things to end and 10 episodes is all we got. But it was 10 amazing episodes we got to experience.

This anime was cyberpunk perfection one of Netflix best shows.

Would love to see them go even further back into the timeline. Like Adam Smashers origins, or maybe Blackhand and Silverhand.

there is a weird duality between Lucy and David... she either doesn't realize or doesn't care that David is addicted to implants and if she does... doesn't really do anything to try and get him to stop. Ditto Becca but she can see it coming from a mile away given the things he starts doing. The emotional beats kind of falls flat once you realize that between episodes 6 and 10 they basically speed-run David's entire adult arc. I want to love it and up until episode 4, I really did... but the rest just feels a bit numb. Should have been 24~ episodes.

I actually enjoyed Cyberpunk!!! It was surprisingly good.

There was no ‘fall’, only an ending where he went out in blazing glory

The Anime is what made me bought and downloaded "Cyberpunk 2077" on my PS4, That's why I'm going to play it through the End where I will kill *Adam Smasher* to avenge my Boi David and best Girl Rebecca.

You poor thing. Killing Adam Smasher won't make you feel better. By the end of it all you will feel worse than the anime. To be sure the power of the emotional Rollercoaster is the strongest part of the world of cyberpunk so far.

If they were to make a second seasons it should play off the hope factor that David could be alive but in the end turns out to be dead and was a trap led by arasaka

Looks like a lot was adapted from Shadowrun. Cyberpsychosis was introduced in the RPG. Higher percentage of "Chrome" the less humanity the character had. Over 65% was considered cyberpsychotic, be really careful how you describe a target, especially hostage recovery. 8 ) Cheers

Both came out in the late 80s early 90s. Shadowrun has a Super Nintendo and Sega Genisis game. Micheal Pondsmith created the Cyberpunk ttrpg. He was inspired by the novel "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" which was adapted to be Bladerunner, the original movie starring Harrison Ford. I believe all this info is correct....

I'm over 50, we played Shadowrun using GURPS rules for mechanics, and played Cyberpunk using WOD White Wolf rules(ala, Mage:The Ascension).

Yea ain't no way a dime stays single, even on the moon

Kinda makes you wonder just how insanely powerful v was to even stand a chance against adam smasher. Lest when it comes to cyberware V is fairly average getting mostly arm implants and potentially a few internal orgens replaced with other varients. Going off most concept art he seemingly only really has mantis blades and assuming you never get implants other then the one he gets at the beginning he only has a palm implant that helps with accuracy and a cyber eye implant if i remember correctly. WIth how insane cyberware can seemingly make a person kinda crazy a single dude with arm blades and a handful of honestly average guns ranging from shotguns smgs pistol and full auto rifles was able to kill what was effectively a walking tank with nearly a lifetime worth of training behind him. I mean even as a hacker v with the best deamons around and flawless hacking skills its still hard to believe v could beat adam. Given david was struggling to keep it together while v found at lest some form of symbiosis with johnnys construct even if it was slowly killing him. So maybe v was just a prodigy or lucky as hell i mean that or V was the perfect combination of human and cyberware.

The only mistake this show had was it had to little episodes.

David deserved better

All this could have been prevented if Gloria knew how to step on the brake. Seriously they were in the middle of a drive-by and stayed in the middle.

I saw everything coming a mile away since I played the game I was already expecting the worst...since (SPOILER) even the main character of the game is technically still dying....but the smile on that man's face...........something as small as that is the exact moment I knew David was not gonna have a good end.

To bad you cant form a crew on the game like they do in the show. Panam, Judy, and River would all make good members.

Clearly, the narrator for this video didn't write the script for it.

you said that david died instantly but you missed the fact that they intentionally left it vague by not showing the bullet impact on him witch means that their could be plans to make a season 2 where david either didnt get shot or where he actually survived

"David Edgerunner" thats a pretty cool last name if you ask me

For starters. This is a fairy tale series if we speak about science. The first problem here is the neural connection with mechanical hardware and the second problem is the construct of nano machines. That type of technology requires at least 400 years of development. When I see Cyberpunk 77 as if the whole thing were possible in 2077 I start to laugh. A little adjustment to this number can make it more believable like 2577. That for me would make ''sense". For example anti gravity technology. That stuff is WAY off the charts. It's way too advanced.

If we get a second season it got to be a different cast of characters and I want morgen blackhand involved as well because he is a badass

The Anime is actually cannon in the games thanks to the 1.6 update. Falco even contacts you and leaves a "gift" for you with El Captin.

David, Gloria & Martinez names mean - (in order) "Beloved", "Glory" & "Child of Mars" (Mars who is the Roman equivalent of the God of War & Fertility) so their names definitely bring weight to their story - as all good stories do. Rip David, you live on in the glory of a humanitarian idealistic story 🕊

I lost all respect for David and Lucy after they became horrible people. David when he murdered that innocent mother and Lucy after she screwed over Maine and Dorio... glad they both suffered, karma is great.

@@LandStrider23 when Lucy tried to short circuit that corpo they kidnapped, she also fried the jammer keeping Trauma and the NCPD from finding them. So that whole desperate shoot out which ended in the deaths of Maine and Dorio was directly caused by Lucy. She basically killed them.

Johnny Silverhand for Season 2 would be Great

I figured this took place after Johnny got caught by Smasher and killed because at that point Smasher still looked human but with implants. When we fought Smasher he almost looks the way he looks in Edge Runner, Meaning years went by, before we (V) was even born.. Johnny would have been extremely old in 2077 if he wasn't killed. So that gives an idea about the time line,, But thats if this Edge Runner story wasn't stand alone

I thought it took place during/ right before the games story, the city looks exactly the same, and Smasher looks the same, also, its the same universe, theres a drink called the David Martinez in the Afterlife

Season 2 : Johnny seducing the protagonist

I liked the serie. But the middle to end series feeled rushed and i hated the ending of every character. Specially David and Lucy. I hope they bring him back for a second season or at least a cyberpunk expansion to give him a proper ending.
