2,000 volts at 8 amps (typical chair setting)= instant unconsciousness and brain death. The body will still react but “no one’s home.” The mind is destroyed and essentially flash fried.

@@geezerp1982 do you have any concept of how the science of the electric chair works ?With the 1st jolt the brain 🧠 is completely depolarized ,which causes immediate brain death 💀..The electric ⚡️ current also causes heart defibrillation, and causes cardiac arrest ..The 2nd less powerful jolt causes major organ damage ,by thermal heating ..Initially the current cooks the internal organs in their own juices ,the blood 🩸 does come to a boil .You pretty much burn 🔥 alive ..Your intestines do evaporate ,causing the victim to crap and piss on themselves..The other weird things that the chair does is it makes your face contort, which could make your eyesballs to explode 🤯..The current makes your muscles 💪 contract ,sometimes to the point it causes joint dislocation..Sometimes prison officials have to use a sandbags or a sledgehammer to get the corpse 🧟‍♀️ out of the chair 🪑.So yes I have studied the inner science of how death ☠️ by electrocution works ..Not a good way to go ....

Finally ! Real Justice has been served for the family and for this beautiful young girl whose life was stolen by this individual. Human life is so precious that, when taken away, it can only be repaid by another precious thing. Life for life.. Authorities did their role. Thank you Tennessee. Its amazing how so many people can not understand the difference between justice and a murder.

I just want to say...as Lee's relative...I was born just months after he was sentenced and I heard the tragic story of Lee....he did NOT deeply care for her like the end statement suggested. Her mom and her talked daily and Lee had never mentioned anything of this man. They had only just met. It was an unforgivable crime. Please remember Lee Standifer. She was an angel to my family. I held her and our entire family in my heart all day as we all process this and the disturbing details of this case that is just coming to light for many of us.

Yes, natural sponge seems to work much better and is way more reliable as a conductor of electricity vs synthetic sponges. The synthetic sponges can even ark electricity and catch fire were natural sponge doesn't. But the electric chair seems to be more reliable and effective vs lethal injection, not to mention faster and less taxing on the prison staff involved in the execution.

This isn't like touching a live wire, It effectively cooks someone to death and takes a fair bit of maintenance. If we wanted to execute someone quickly and effectively we already know how, a bullet to the brain. It seems to be a purely American obsession that we build crazy death machines to do this.

What took so long. 1981 to 2018. Wow. That's a longtime. Also you can stop calling this killer "Mr.". That is a title that is earned not given just because he had a penis. He was a killer and needed to be punished long ago. I find it ironic that the people giving the reports detailing the play by play which no one really cares about were kids at best when the Killer was convicted. This could all be done much quicker at at a fraction of the price. 3 bullets. 2 to the gut and one to the head. Total cost about 3 bucks. Put the body in a firepit and add litter fluid. Again about 3 bucks. Move on to the next. Maybe put on T.V. for all that want to watch and sending a message that crime is not tolerated and this will happen to you if you do such hyannis things. Just my opinion. But I believe many would be on board with the 6 buck solution.

I agree with you. Execution is a cold-blooded revenge murder What a terrible hypocrisy! It is ignoble, unchristian, morally repugnant.

No thanks, I know there is two sides to it but there has to be severe punishment or else it would embolden more people to commit murder. I respect your opinion and sometimes I ride the fence over this debate but there has to be some justice in this world.
