Gillian and David created the MOST EPIC couple on television that will NEVER be surpassed. They did it all with chemistry and only hints of romantic intimacy. Think about that. Incredible actors! I honestly do not think any other stars could have been Mulder and Scully and made this work. Of course as huge fans of the show, our desire to see more of the fictional couple has spilled out into the real world. But in my honest opinion, fans shouldn't do this to David and Gillian. Leave them alone, stop asking them questions about a relationship. Talk to them about the work they are involved in NOW and stop with the questions about their relationship before it bothers them so much they cannot remain good friends...

People who actually hate each other don’t make out over and over for blooper reels.

They brought two fictional characters to life and wow did they ever have chemistry. I am sure they had ups and downs. How can you not when you spend more time with your co-worker than your family? You have two young people who are away from their own families, and homes, trying to get along while working long hours, trying to make the TV series a hit, learning lines, make up, etc, etc I can't imagine that's easy. I think they have moved past their issues, they have matured, gone on to other things and have had success. The chemistry they share is obvious and I think it goes beyond the X-Files. I am sure they get tired of the fans fantasies (same questions) but if they didn't have that bond we saw we wouldn't ask. They gave us a great show and great memories let's just enjoy that and wish them future success.

I started watching xfiles in 1996 and never stopped to this day :)

The greatest TV love story ever written. Who’s to say that maybe deep down in their hearts they feel married became of the beautiful feelings they have for each other. And they will be forever Mulder and Scully in our hearts

I watched them from the beginning and think/felt they were at least friends. When I heard of the tensions and arguments they had it made me really sad. Back then my female friends wanted to find their Mulder and my male friends wanted to find their Scully. The way they look at each other and transformed into those characters, the love was real. They are amazing and I love them both. I am happy they are friends.

No one beats Fox Mulder and Dana Scully's chemistry it was steamy, hot and beautiful to the point that they deserve each other threw season 1 to season 9, 2 movies and 2 extra reboot seasons. And I've been their fan for when I was 5 years old. I loved them together, they are the best couple and partners I have ever seen. What does the TV series The X Files say as a logo in the main cast title for the X Files THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.

They might have a relationship, but it seems like they are friends who stir up rumors for publicity. They don't even usually live in the same country. She lives in the UK and he lives in the US. They do have great chemistry though.

The chemistry between the actors, & characters is amazing. Easily in my top 5 fave shows of all time.

⬅️ As a die hard X-Phile, my personal opinion is that their behavior towards each other, however confusing it is for OTHER people, is completely normal for THEM. They friendly flirt with each other as a form of mental & emotional support. It's just the dynamic of their friendship. They have never & WILL never be romantically involved because it would dissolve that dynamic. They love each other but they'll never be IN love & they like it that way.

As an avid X-files fan personally I never wanted them to be involved romantically either on the show or in real life. This is because in most cases a beautiful friendship will be ruined with a romantic involvement. If and when they break up, as most people do who haven't found their one true love, then most of the time it follows and ugly course. I like it to stay fictional where it can remain ideal, at least in the minds of us fans

Mmm. A veces se odiaban. A veces los celos profesionales eran tremendos. La amistad fue difícil. Pero yo amé cada capitulo de las dos (x y xi) temporadas recientes, y sigo sus carreras... They hooked up in the first season in Vancouver...... it wasn't even a thing back in the early 90s.... from a lad who flew way over from Western Europe to BC filming locations....a 19 Yr old fella, who doesn't regret a day of it ..... the nightlife too, Roxy on Granville St..... I used to stay in the hostel on Burnaby St, off Davie & Thurlow, if going North from Granville......

It’s nice to fantasize about these things sometimes, but y’all have to understand that you can be in love with someone in a not “romantic” way, if that makes sense, and your soulmate doesn’t necessarily have to be your significant other. I don’t think people understand the complex relationships that can exist between 2 people without them being romantically involved. Or maybe they’ve never really had a true friendship. I think they have a wonderful relationship just as is. Also, I would refuse to answer these kind of questions too if they’re the only ones being asked all the time. I would be so pissed honestly. Lol. And also, I’ve always found it interesting their birthdays are like 2 days apart.

Maybe they just aren't compatiable beyond their chemistry. They both could have habits the other can't stand after a while which means they might rather want to be friends. Sometimes relationships can't happen because you feel emotionally interested but one of them is not sexually interested in it or the opposite can be true as well.

I never thought she was hot like most dudes did in the 90s (probably because of the style of the time wasn't exactly flattering), but she is so hot nowadays.

Saw a commercial David in some show about how to roll toilet paper down or how you do it. It was SO FUNNY WITH DAVID IN IT. Honestly, I've never ever took this conspiracy theory of those two to be serious as another x-philes always do. BUT after I watched this clip I am like... OK, let's me be a shipper for a second. lol

Google Dax Sheppard’s arm chair podcast with Juliana Margulies and she spills the beans on what Hollywood insiders knew for years. She speaks about how she and George Clooney didn’t have a relationship when filming ER and can be friends for years and not be like David and Gillian from the X-files as they slept together during the making of the pilot not knowing they’d have to work together for so many years there after and hated each other off and on. Juliana also said the same thing about Bruce Willis and Cybil Sheppard when they filmed the pilot of Moonlighting.

these 2 are equivalent of someone like Christopher Reeve of Superman who can never be replaced with anyone. as Christopher Reeve is one and only Superman who died with Christopher Reeve, this couple is unchangeable either.

I was already watching Fox at the time the show came out - I can't remember what show was before it now, (Parker Lewis Can't Lose or what. I know Strange Luck came on later and I thought it was great, but it got the axe.) Anyway, I was pretty much already watching Fox when the X-Files came on. The stories were compelling and the characters believable. You loved the casting, from Mulder, Scully and eventually Skinner all the way to the love-hate for CSM and Krycek. In the series, Mulder and Scully became fiercely loyal to each other as the show progressed,but I never felt the need for them to be together. When the hints of a relationship did come into play, I was actually indifferent about it, though it did make sense as they were two attractive people working closely together and their characters would have each died to protect the other. When it was revealed that there was a baby involved, I only felt that it would have made more sense if they had shown more of a relationship, however that could be explained as those moments weren't part of the episodes or cases shown. I know that Duchovny leaving the series for a time forced some fancy story telling and many things became implied that were never shown. They became a given. I heard back then that the actors themselves had some difficulties with each other, so hearing that they are at least getting along does my heart good regardless of the presence or lack there of, any romantic entanglements.

Obviously love them!! 💖 But, let's not forget, Chris Carter was the true genius behind X-Files & Millennium series. Some people tend to underrate that.

People. Get over it. They're ACTORS who have worked together on a very successful TV Series. I would NEVER miss an episode of X-Files and I saw it as a first run in the 1990's. I did miss the film BUT I can always find it somewhere. They're obviously good friends and helping each other's career a bit with publicity shots & flirty text msgs. that everyone can see because they are NOT getting any younger. This is an industry that itsn't kind to aging actors. So, what ever they can do for publicity and getting everyone talking about them is good for their careers. Quite frankly I love when they work together. Their on-screen chemistry does much for driving the plot and the action of the film. IT also makes the characters become alive. I have known actors for most of my adult life. I can tell you they are both amazing and terrifying because they can make you believe anything even when you know it's NOT the truth; and they can morph into another person before your eyes which is also both amazing and terrifying.

You say to get over it - but why are you watching and commenting then? Just because you, 'know actors,' dies not mean you know anything about David and Gillian. Have you spent any time around them in real life? I have. It's obvious that they are genuinely very fond of each other. They have been for quite a few years. It has nothing to do with them getting older. Your disrespect for two consummate performers and their genuine fans is really horrible.

I Don t think that it is so unusual that two people that cannot stand each other become good friends and who would t have a break from someone you have to work with every day!!! Then there was a lot of pressure from the fans that wanted them to have the same chemistry in real life than they had in front of the camera!! I think they are fond of each other in real life but of course it is showbiz and they used they relationship for publicity!! Of course they remain one of the best TV couples ever and I never get tied of seeing the x files over and over again!! 😎

They have chemistry, for sure! They may feel more than friends. But, here’s the deal, David has/had some “issues” that caused his divorce. It was mentioned he had sexual/porn addictions. Would you want to tie yourself up with that kind of person? Let them have their public displays of affection. It’s good for publicity and good for them. Their relationship has been perfect for many years. I, for one, would HATE to see them commit to more, then have it fail. The dream would die.
