I grew up in NYC and cannot remember a time when I did not have a strong, visceral hatred for the Trumps. I thank David for articulating what I felt intuitively. More Americans need to be exposed to the life and times of Donald Trump, and this book is a fine starting point. Many will cry, "Fake news," but for others Johnston's portrayal of this human scum will sink in. The Democrats, too, need to listen to DCJ. Is Joe Biden the best they can muster?

You are right on every point you make. David Cay Johnston states repeatedly that he only writes about what can be found in public records about Trump, which is why Trump has never sued him and Johnston has no fear of being sued. Fake news? Nope, unless public records are fake news. On to Joe Biden. Terrible choice. Biden, Pelosi, Feinstein and the whole geriatric club need to retire. Yes, even Bernie sad to say. The Democrats need to push hard for strong progressive candidates who will safeguard the environment and keep the needs of the 99% in the forefront.

Universal healthcare is awesome.

It's incredible how even knowledgeable people don't know what "congress" is. Congress is both houses of the legislature: consisting of senators (members from the Senate, the upper house) and representatives (members of the House of Representatives, the lower house). Senators and representatives are both congressmen/congresswomen.

Wow! Today is Dec. 1, 2021. and so prophetic and accurate of David Cay Johnston to say back in March, 2018 Trump..."will foment violence and revolution against the government of the United States."

Wish so much that Johnston would write today on his reactions to Trump's inciting of the Jan. 6 overtaking of our Capitol. That would be awesome to hear!

Chris Hobson novels are books. Do you mean Fire and Fury is fiction? It was a great read and true enough to be terrifying.

Wish enough Americans had listened to Mr. Johnston, who is shaping up to be the conscience of the peole.

He is amazingly accurate... look at the date and see what just happened with Pruitt ... maybe the sound of video could be better

I totally agree with him on Nancy Pelosi. She needs to be voted out of office and replaced with a real Democrat, someone who stands for the things Democrats are supposed to stand for.

This is amazing. All of the predictions have come true. What else can we expect? Will he be charged with the crimes?

I would ask Mr. Johnston what he thinks the main thrusts of Mueller's report will be, and the consequences flowing from his leave-no-stone-unturned investigation.

Mr. Johnston Germany does not have universal health care. Germany passed a law in 2009 declaring everyone who lives in Germany must have insurance, they don't care how you get it, and you must be covered by an insurance company that is on the list of German companies who are allowed to cover you ie: no expat insurance. You have to buy it from an insurance company if you are a freelancer or an independent business owner, orif you are employed at a company, you pay 50% through payroll deduction where your employer pays the other 50%. That's not universal health care. The NHS in GB is a universal one payer system and Health and Welfare Canada run the Canadian universal one payer system that is funded by taxes from different sources.

The smartest thing I heard here was David’s last comment about the Democrats. Ive despised Trump for past 30 years or so, more so in past 4 years. Obama was a unicorn in my opinion. I don’t see anyone comparable to Obama. We need help finding a strong leader. Most of the names so far scare me as it seems they are well intended but lean too far left and I don’t want full blown socialism... I probably don’t know what I am talking about but maybe I am somewhat on the right track

The wealthy and moderates would never allow full blown socialism, and it’s used to scare people. Policies that distribute income to the hard working people, aren’t radical. Healthcare is a given in many advanced countries. Social Security is considered “socialism”, I look at it as redistributing wealth and income. ~We are so used to `the current system `that `works against us, `that BASIC needs like social programs, livable wages, healthcare, clean environment, `tackling climate change sound “extreme”. Other nations are them for granted and enjoy Them.
