Nice! What a shot from the past! I'm david Harris- the trombonist. Would love to get a DVD if possible. Never got to see this footage!
How could you leave WINTER out of this collection??? OMG! One of the greatest brass songs EVER written!

I THINK it could be because they didn't have enough people on this stage to perform it. I can't tell, but I think that Winter was at least 2 separate takes of the same song. To perform it live they might have needed 10 different horns. That many horns for only one song during the tour..............???
Used the closing track as the recessional, at my wedding. Using this track to get through the hellforsaken spreadsheets that mark the end of that marriage [and the violence that, for me, made its outcome uncertain]. This track, and a lavender gingham shirt, jeans, and tall boots: the right kind of luck.
I've had this since it was released and in my opinion it is his masterpiece.
I remember seeing this on TV - I was in the audience at the actual show - as well as Durutti Column Hugo Largo played. This was an ICA fundraiser but it took place at the Cambridge Theatre close to Covent Garden
This is one of my favourite albums of all time. What a joy to be able to see it performed like this.
I bought this on Vinyl in the Eighties and used to listen to it all the time ; and still have it.I always imagined what the performance might be like. Now I can finally see it.Amazing.This is truly one of Byrne`s finest works.Me and my friends used to play our instruments in our soundroom and re-enact pieces from this play. You can listen to this over and over and never get tired of it.Thank You So Much !! Hilarious ; but he is being very serious about it.
i saw this in 1987 and was blown away.
I used to listen to the album of a lot when it was first out - never seen the pieces performed live tho...thanks for putting these up :>
charming dear!
I'm afraid not - hence a VHS tape nearly nineteen years old. The footage for this is a co-production of the Institute of Contempary Arts and the BBC, and comments on the Durutti Column set from the same show have said that even the artists may not have copies.
Some of my most favorite sounds heard-ever in my life. These are beautiful. I would also like to know how to find the dvd
i got married to this song - she was a blue dress...
There is a DVD available. Please message me for more details.
