Bowie wore only dresses during his first American trip at this time. A guy pulled a gun on him in Houston. In L.A. kids ran up to him and wanted an autograph because they thought he was a glamourous actress. There will never be another Bowie. He was so bold and beautiful. He was also incredibly intelligent.

1970-1971 my favourite bowie period from 1969 the man who sold the world was like 2/3 steps forward than after that each album was one step at a time IMO.

He popped back quite often. He had a house in Edinburgh for a while. He and Iman bought a house in London but they sold it again when the press started hanging around.
