I was eating pasta 🍝. Watching the game live ,🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. I threw away the dish and started to jump And cried. 😭 Tears of joy And relief. Love you england fantastic 2001 5-1 germany and then this one.

Most people just classed Beckham as right wing... This goes to show how he could beast most positions and quite comfortably hit long passes with both feet. Sure this was the full man United team except from Martin keon and David seaman 🤣😂

David's performance in this game showed SO much heart. literally should be a must watch for the captain of any team to see how you grab the game by the scruff of the neck when your team is playing their worst.

Iconic. Stunning , a superb all round performance topped off with that free kick

I remember watching this match live, it was really frustrating, it seemed like England were scared to lose and played everything safe and simple, except for Beckham. You hear about players taking a game by the scruff of the neck and never has been more that case than this match. We had players like Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes on the pitch and Beckham made them both look like very average players on that day.

Let's call a spade a spade. Beckham was a one trick pony and world class at it - crosses and dead ball situations. But he wasn't himself a world class player. Not in the mould of a Zidane, Ronaldo or Henry was of his generation. He was never going to win a WC or Euros.

It’s safe to say that Beckham was criminally overrated when it came to free kicks. His conversion rate is terrible. Additionally, this guy would pass the ball and pray for the best, no accuracy whatsoever
