Dave wanted to make things right with Oprah, Alan Kalter's grandmother showed up, and a lot of comedy came into play. This is perfect.

We had chat rooms and instant messengers napster and embedded quicktime in html. All the ways to connect without oppressive algorithms. So much promise before the internet was dominated by corporate vultures.

Thanks to the team for uploading these classic clips! Now I'm left to mentally stew on how the house would've come down if Oprah's autograph had been on the last page of the book... 😉

I love Alan Kalter bits. How cold was the studio? At what temperature did they keep it?

Jane Bennett is in reality Jude Brennan, a producer on the show.

Jane Bennett is the second female lead in Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. Her sister Elizabeth (spoiler) finally ends up with male protagonist Fitzwilliam Darcy of the fabled Pemberley estate.

Dave making his staff squirm as they try to improv is always fun to watch. Thanks as always! And I second the other commenter’s request for a compilation of Alan as Fred MacMurray! That was fantastic in its observation, premise, and execution.

IMO, one of the lamer skit segments from the CBS run. Not really funny at all when show staffers pose as actual audience members.

After Dave had his bypass surgery, the show just wasn't too funny anymore.
