@@jasonisbell1648 I'm pretty sure he'd say John. The band didn't get along well with Navarro because they lost Hillel Slovak to a heroin overdose, John quit/was fired due to his heroin addiction, their singer was struggling to stay clean himself, and here was Navarro also doing heroin. Then they fired poor Josh Klinghofer in favor of getting John back. I don't think it's fair to compare the late Slovak to the others, so I'm not including him in this comparison. He gets his own separate category.

I think that this all depends on when you fell in Love with the peppers for the first time. I started with mother's milk, then discovered the albums before that and bssm have me the rest...long awaited ohm left me first confused and shocked (especially the first single 'warped'!!!) But then I loved it, especially Dave's guitar work is so laid back and different from John's style, rather technically 'advanced' than John's powerful intuitive style esp. when it comes to soloing.i can't listen to the the last peppers albums slightly had problems with 'by the way' because I miss the 'real' bluesy funk and the voice lines and simple chords are sooo boring for me, nothing new compared to those 'old days' shit.... In the end, I'm (personally) quite disappointed with their development, but overall extremely thankful for the good stuff they created and how they influenced me and my personal and musical development...

Dave was a perfect fit. Looked good without a shirt (Goin Out West) and could play the fucking guitar. One Hot Minute is good front to back. Of course, he's not John, so he gets brushed away.

I grew up around a lot of musicians/music snobs. Fist fights were had over liking this or that. So when discussing Red Hots, everyone I knew dismissed One Hot Minute they loved Blood Sugar and of course the really poppy harmonies of the next two, but looking back I can't think of a more eclectic album from the RHCP. And I'm furthers thing from a Dave Navaro fan yet I think One Hot Minute is their most interesting album. I'm waiting for a lighting strike or something even admitting that.
