I'm glad I listened to this. I remember hearing Steve, Dave, and Jim being interviewed about Traffic. They were all friends. Steve, Jim and Chris wanted a R&B experimental band. Dave would show up with fully developed pop songs. Dave would leave thinking he didn't fit in only to be invited back for the next album. In hindsight, they all realized they needed each other those early years. Joe Cockers remake made people aware of Dave Masons song writing. He had already been known for his other talents. Traffic was able to legitimize themselves without Dave by this time. I am so glad Traffic was successful, Dave and Steve were successful as a solos and everyone in the band contributed to other bands and formed other bands.

Dave and Steve need to get together. Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friends. Music is Love.

Neither could John Lennon and many more rockers-- Brian Epstein was so important to the Beatles success.... He was a musician himself--Not just their manager.

Surprised? Im more surprised when I find out a rocker CAN read music lol. These classic rock songs were created organically, not traditionally.

I’ve always thought he was American! Even back in the day he had a Yankee NY area accent. Strange!

I thought Dave Mason was English. He's lost all his accent. Did he also have a place on Santa Catalina Island, CA?

For crying out loud, he's lived in America for half a century! How could he NOT lose it? That would be almost like Bob Hope should still have an English accent--he lived most of his life in America and was born in the same town as Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple!
