The Hunter was the aircraft flown under Tower Bridge back in ‘68! Rach also causing lots of virtual phone calls to the station commander to complain about the low flying! 😂

As a cadet, I sat in this very aircraft in 1975 at RAF Valley though I recall it was significantly more dinged up than the sim version. What should be next to it on the pan is the Gnat. At the time (pre-Hawk), advanced jet training was started on the Gnat (90 hours, I think) and then progressed to the Hunter for weapons training. Except if you were over 5ft 10in (an estimate) and were wearing a bone dome, it wasn't possible to get the canopy to close on the Gnat, so all the training was done on the Hunter. In training, it was mostly a matter of clocking the flying hours, so the aircraft would fully fuel in the morning and then, usually in pairs, head into the Snowdonia mountain range to play tag at 250ft (or lower). As they say, it was a different age.

I really enjoy flying the Hawker Hunter. I also got the single seat Hawker Hunter that's also made by Dave Garwood.

They are the Mk-58’s that ATAC flies out of Point Mugu. I see them frequently, as well as the F-21 Kfir’s, that fly over my home on their way to land at Mugu.

Sounds are spot-on at taxi speeds. From memory though, in flight, the Hunter is one of the loudest aircraft around. The last display I recall was Farnborough in the noughties, when it was painted in red bull livery. Vulcan was powered by 4 Bristol Olympus. RR couldn't design anything as good so they bought Bristol's out to acquire the rights...

18:15 The first one was (I think) Mynydd Perfedd and the second one was Glyder Fawr. Snowdon was directly behind Glyder Fawr, just above your mouse pointer... ;)

Enjoyable video, though. I always like watching MSFS videos of places I'm very familiar with. The only things that this was missing was my own little add-ons I created for Llanddwyn Island and Dolbadarn Castle... 🤣😉

Thanks for another awesome flight review! I love your humor and your knowledge. Plus I love those Hunters, in Switzerland they operated 4 of them for passenger flights until 2020 oder 21 and 2 single seaters for airshows but had to sell them due to a steep increase of costs per hour and some regulatory issues. Now there are only 2 Hunters left, a twin based in Sion and the infamous Papyrus Hunter in St Stephan just a hop over a mountain ridge, both of them with quite an uncertain future unfortunately. The good side is that the other airframes went on to GB, US and Canada for Red Air missions.

The 2 loadouts that have 2 tanks, I caught the difference, it's REALLY subtle. The tanks on the inboards are the same, but on one loadout the hardpoints for the outboard tanks are fitted, just as empty hardpoints, and in the other loadout those outboard hardpoints are removed. Really world you'll be a bit more draggy with those hardpoints, but it'd be quicker and easier to fit stores on the outboard if needed.

What I will point out instead, the Vulcan didn't use the Avon's, it used the Olympus engines. As for the howl, I was always lead to believe that it was due to the shape of the air intake, rather than the engine itself, which does kinda check, if you look at the shape of the hunters intakes in the wing... they're not too dissimilar, if a lot smaller, than those on the Vulcan.

Hi AvAngel, we must be "in tune"!!!....I did a very similar flight yesterday afternoon out of Valley(excellent scenery BTW) in Dave's masterpiece! I even parked up next to the Danish F16's. The Mach Loop was great fun☺....like you I've had a couple of crashes in the last couple of days, I downloaded the latest driver last week🤔... Are you using TrackIR?...I keep deliberating whether to buy it. I'm hoping someone does repaints for II(AC) & 4 Sqn....that would take me right back to my days at RAF Gutersloh, very early 70's.....happy days🙂

Ummm Avie !?! There were a couple of aircraft photographers on one of the hilltops you blasted by complaining that you may have clipped one of their tripod mounted cameras with a wing. They found the tripod a few yards away but their GoPro might be lodged in an under wing panel.😳
